I'm heading down pretty soon, and my mom is really on my case about having a phone number where she can get a hold of me quickly. So I was wondering for the Canadians already down there, what do most people do for a cellphone? And about how much do they cost? Thanks guys!
hey girl! you must be so stoked that you're coming down here soon! there are a couple options for cell phones. best bet: bring the phone you have down with you and get it unlocked at the Florida Mall for $25-$50 and then get a pay-as-you-go plan to avoid buying a new phone and locking yourself into a contract.

They've been good. Lots of paperwork and forms and information thrown at you, but they pretty much hold your hand throughout all of it. Lotssss of time to tour around and visit stuff. We got our cards yesterday that let us into the parks for free, so that will let you know how quick this all goes! Started training for food and bev today, and start training actually at the Canada pavillion tomorrow. Right now it's Food & Wine fest which means epcot is a raging party until the 14th! I can't wait to get working and making some money!
Alot of people do go with the pay as you go phones as said above. My plan worked fairly well i though (finished program in June) I usedm y Canadian cell at first though I was dinged a fair bit on the few minutes I used (my texting was free) and as soon as you can go to Metro PCS and get a phone there. No contracts no nothing, you just buy the phone outright and its pretty much unlimjited talk, text all over the world for 60 bucks. Fantastic deal! You just need to buy the phone. I got a blackberry myself and was satisfied with everything. And when your done yo ujust leave and dont pay the bill and they cut it off and life goes on.
I have Virgin 1200 mins/month, unlimited text and web for 40$/month. Phones like anywhere are 20-350 bucks. I started with T-Mobile then switched to Virgin. Honestly I don't remember why lol I think just cuz it was 10 bucks cheaper. That's an hour and a half at work lmao
