I was wondering, I'm trying to buy my hiking boots before I get there but I'm not really sure, any advice about what I need to get.! There's some at Payless that look nice but I'm still not sure! :p

    Please help :p

    Thanks!

    Have a magical day!

From what I've heard, it's best to just wait 'til you get there. There is a Timberland store at the Outlet mall across the street from housing. And apparently, they have very good deals and perhaps a discount for CMs.

My advice is don't go very cheap, as you will be on your feet at least 7 hours a day, 5 days a week in them. Also... WATERPROOF WATERPROOF WATERPROOF. It rains (pours) pretty much everyday in the summer.

I would wait until you are there, personally.... You'll save room in your bag, plus in general things are less expensive in the States than Canada.

This post made me think of my last day on my program.... throwing my boots in the garbage 10 minutes after my last clock out haha right beside the merch cart.

Like some of the guys have said, the outlet malls are 10 mins from the apartment complexes, you can get some good deals on boots in there. I think they just have to be smart boots. When i was working there, people wore a real mix of different boots, hiking boots mainly but some wore timberlands which really stood the test of time, so i guess the $70 was worth it for most of the guys
