Questions about the bread spiel in Le Cellier:

    1. Does anyone remember it word for word? Can you post it here?
    2. Is it still being said to every guest when they get their bread?
    3. Is the spiel used at all at the old Beaver Tails hut where they serve the bread now?
    4. When was the spiel introduced? Who came up with it?

The reason I ask is that I met the man who runs the Kitchener/Waterloo Octoberfest Festival and he had NO idea that Disney world promotes his festival all day long with the pretzel bread in the Canada pavilion.

    Hey Tyler

I don't remember it word for word, but I do know we told people the the pretzel bread represented Kitchener-Waterloo because of the the Oktoberfest Celebration. I believe we told them it was the 2nd largest in the world or North America. Being from Kitchener I already knew about Oktoberfest!

Okay this is how I think it went BUT I can't be certain it is word for word cause in my day everyone put their own spin on the spiel.
"We have three kinds of bread which represents three different areas of Canada. The first is the sourdough bread which come from the Yukon territories. The Yukon spends most of the year with only a few hours of daylight everyday. However, when this reverses for a month they have a sourdough festival to celebrate. The second bread is from the prairie provinces of Saskatchewon and Alberta. It is the mutlibrain bread because these provinces produce 50% of the world's wheat and grain. And finally the pretzel bread represents Kitchener-Waterloo's Oktoberfest celebration which is the second largest in the world after Munich Germany and takes place every October."
There were all kinds of variations and stuff on this but you get the basic gist.

    LOL  :D

Gawd.... here's how the bread spiel went on the last day of my contract when I went to Le Cellier for lunch.... "This one represents a cacasian penis... this one's a negro penis... and this one is Mike's (a gay Canadian cast member who claimed to have had sex with 60 people) penis!"

I don't know if it was the magarita I had in Mexico on the way... but I thought it was so damned funny!

    Sorry mediator if it offends!

heres the proper speil for the bread.

we have here three brads or you to try. Each one represents a different part of canada.
The first one is our pretzel bread which represents the kitchener waterloo reigion of ontario which hosts the second largest Octoberfest other than Munic germany. We then have our multi-grain which represents our prarie provinces of Alberta Saskachuan, and manitoba, combined together they grow over 50% of the worlds grains. And our third bread for you to try represents the yukon territories, in the yukon for half the year they average 3 hours of daylight....in the spring when they get the longer hours of daylight back they celebrate by having a sourdough festival. if you have any favorites i will be happy to bring more out for you

Ah the bread speil, I don't remember it bye heart but I think that OttawaChikky has it down the best. I would always add to the speil for the Pretzel bread is, That this bread represent kitchener waterloo area of Ontario that is known for the secound largest octoberfest in the world outside Munich, which also hold the world record for the world longest sausage at 28 1/4 miles long.
