As long as you get the time off it shouldn't be a problem! I was on a Q1 visa and I went home to Norway for a week ;)

sean - davids mate jess went home for a week for her graduation and came back.
so think it should be fine as long as u get time off - which in november i'd imagine would be fine.

Yes, you need that paper! If you're in epcot then it's in the library trailer. If you're at another park just ask one of your managers or trainer on where to get it...

does letting you leave the country apply to the icp too, even though you're not there as long?

It should be the same... As long as you have the time off, they can't decide where you can't go...
