Can We Take a Laptop???

hey guys,

just need a bit of advice - i was going to take my laptop with me as i think i remember someone saying before that we can coz we have internet connections in our room......

.....but my mum seems to think that our laptops won't work in US because "the electric's different" is this true?!!! she says that is why we can't buy cheap laptops in US and bring them back home!

no, the computer will not work in america because of the outlets, but if you buy a converter, it'll probably work fine...

 

yeah u buy like a speacial lead for like ten dollars i think

 

The electricity here is probably different from where you live the USA uses 110v and you probably have 220v but most the time the power adapter that you have already can do between 110-240 all you need to get is the adapter that makes it so that you can plug your plug into an American plug.

Your best to bring the one you have now if you have one.

Yeah I think other people are taking their laptops just need the correct connection for the U.S (I think), We have bought electronic stuff in the U.S as its a lot cheaper, my cousin is a graphic designer and needed a laptop for work he got his over there as he saved a fortune, you just have to make sure it is compatible.

Someone else might be able to help more tho. (I hope )

yeah u just need a travel adapter *as me just said on msn* but just for anyone else, then u buy the connection cable like em says for like $10 from wal mart ill b doin it as bringin mrs laptop with me

and of course all my digital pictures! i love taking photos....


....so conclusion is bring laptop, bring a travel adapter and buy some lead from walmart (that some nice person will point me in the direction of) for $10?! sorted! x

I love my laptop also

 

oooh I don't know if mine's lightweight! it's under 3kilos about 2.9kilo or something! 80 gig hard drive so can get plenty of photos on!

 

I'm going to bring my 2nd hard drive out of my desktop computer and get a hard drive adapter so I can bring my 160 gigs of movies music games ect.

 

160 gigs! woah! my PC is 120gig don't think I'll ever fill it tho!

 

I have a total of 440 gigs between all my computers ;D
