u could do what charlotte has done - she contacted yummy and asked them who was flying from london on the 13th et obviously they wont tell her same as they wont tell u but they sent us all an email saying charlotte wanted to get in touch - so it was then up to us to do it so they cant get in trouble, so u could try that cos they may not be signed up to the boards? ;D
i was wondering, i know in england there are a lot of areas ending in "shire" and i've always wondered what the correct way to pronounce it is. is it supposed to sound like "sure" or "sh-i-er"? ...i was just wondering...that's just me... cheers, mallory ps-it's not me that is your flying buddy, lillybett, sorry
Good question Mallory.. and here's the answer.. Basically all the 'shire' places in the UK are pronounced 'sure' eg) I live in Hampshire = I live in Hampsure Though it is lovely to hear them pronounced 'shire' by Yanks and the like.. This rule goes out of the window if you are of the Baggins Hobbit family and live in 'The Shire' which is pronounced 'Shire' .. Ta taa for now.. Beth xxx p.s. London 2012 woo hoo!!
i would have to disgaree with marshabrady. i don't this all UK people pronounce shire places are sure. for me i have always heard them pronounced as shire, i'm form kent myself but travel around the UK alot and have always heard shire ie derbyshire not derbysure so it must be just didfferent dierlects
speaking of pronounciation. what's up with pronouncing Leicester, Lester..!?!??! and how do you pronounce that worchestershire sauce, or whatever it's called???? :-\
hehe, yeah, and then I sound like a right Brummy by going 'oh your going to burmin-gum'. It's one of the few words that my regional accent can really be pinpointed in.
yeh its all to do with accents...cos its yorkSHEER and HampSHEER for me. im a southener. CambridgeSHEER, NottinghamSHEER, LincolnSHEER...LancaSheer, leicestersheer, northamptonSHEER.... actually i think i use SHEER for them all! hehe!
yer it gotta be a regional thing then being a southerner myself its defo "shear" to me. emma i also love the american way of birmingHAM, then again i love the american accent its just to die for.
i guess everyone has accents, right? i probably have one, but i don't think i do. but i probably do. i wish i had a british accent, jjsweet, that is the accent that is to die for! cheers, mallory
the british accent just bores me lol, well the southern one anyway as i'm round it all the time. if i had to choose a british one that made me melt it would have to be of someone from Liverpool followed closely by bristol.
