Hey there, I'm going to be a lifeguard at Disney beginning end of nov, and i'm just after a bit of info on a few things. Hopefully you can answer the following questions... Is lifeguarding difficult or easy, cruisy or highly stressful? Is the swim test easy? Do you work in a team or is it more of an independent solo job? What do we wear when it's cold and how cold does it get in winter? Sorry to bombard you with questions, I just want to know what to expect. Also, if there;s any future or current disney lifeguards out there, or any cast members from disney for the matter, It'll be great to meet you beforehand on this post. Cheers kiddies. Jules
I also have a purely-out-of-interest question Where the heck does your name tag go on the lifeguard uniform? ??? KC
Yeah good question. I honestly do not know. I suppose you just pin it onto your jacket or t-shirt etc. Are you a lifeguard to? What does KC stand for btw. Jules
Hi there... When I've been on 'vacation' there I've noticed that they seem to wear them on their 'float lanyards' - you know what I mean... (I used to be a lifeguard in the UK - hence the added interest when out there! - Honest! ) As far as the 'team' thing, I suppose it depends on whereabouts you get posted that week, but I 'think' the majority of work is on your own however you get rotated in that area (from what I've noticed in the past) So you're not completely on your own. ie: - Thyphoon Lagoon - There are many of you there, but you all have your posts... but change/rotate on a regular basis. - Resort Pools, mainly on your own, ut again, you get visits from supervisors and stuff. I know it's not exactly all the answers you were searching for but I just thought that I'd share what little knowledge of my observations with you. Hakuna Matata! ;D
'Fraid not! I'm still waiting to go to my face to face interview. Not even a CM yet! Hopefully, I'll get a place on next year's International College Program for the summer And KC is my initials KC
