Hey i was just wondering what typeor breaks you get for doing so many hours i mean at the mo i get half an hour for 6 hours and 15 mins for four and an hour over 8 hours.
erm.... I don't know if it differs between roles... i.e. f&b and merchandise (I don't think it does... ) but if you work for 6 hours, you get 15 mins break, 8 hours you get 45 mins... and over 8 hours you get an hour break and then 15 mins later on.
Wow thats gonna take some getting used to... I'm used to a 15 min break for anything under 5 hours, and a half + a 15 for anything over 5. 30 + 15 + 15 for an 8 hour shift. While I can live with the changes to the 15s, I'll miss my half hour breaks on the shorter shifts lol.
Going to be run of your feet when it's busy!! But I don't get any breaks at work only quiet moments if we have small passenger loads. We will all get used to it and to top it all the extreme heat in those heavy costumes !! and also the heat from the food lol It's all part of the fun and games tho
I don't care about getting breaks except to eat lol So as long as I can nip out to stuff my face I'll be fine hehehe
man i only get half an hour for an 11 hour shift but its not always busy so not constantly running about though im finished my job now seeing as im leaving in a week
i worked in a restaurant on sauchiehall st, finished on sat, didnt mind so much as i made loads of tips plus after a week you get used to it
haha how cool! never heard of topolinos tho! might have to try it some time for some mickey luck hehe
Hey guys, is it common to the eat at the cafeteria or in the kitchen during the brakes or does anybody take his own sandwich? i heard that it is quite common to take at least 1 week off in a month to travell or got to the beaches. is that right? does anybody know if you are able to leave the us with your visum for a week abroad? (eg. europe, kanada or caribik)? love maxine
Hey Mimi, most of the ppl did bring their own food, believe it or not. Also very popular are wending machines... Take one week off in a month?? ??? depending on how busy the parks are, if the managers like you, and what seniority is. You better do not focus too much on having much time off at the beginning of your program. It's easier to make a plan and then get in contact with your scheduler. There is a chance to leave the US with your visa. You have to go to the international trailer in epcot and ask for a form that you have to fill out and has to be signed by your manager. you have to keep the form with you and you need it when you come back to the states to show the immigration officer. dani
One week off a month!!! You'll be lucky! Of course it depends on where you work and if your managers and scheduler are nice... But that's highly unlikely.... I'm technically a CP, not a CR or ICP (despite being international and here for a year.. not 4 months.. ) and even I don't get any time off. That's harsh. We are kinda short staffed in the bakery though, so I don't expect any time off, although I have asked my scheduler for a week off in May... so I'm waiting to find out about that.
Just so you know, I'm in merch: 6 hours - half hour break 8 or 9 (cant remember) an hour & a half Anything over that you get another 15
Good question Tess were i used to work we were aloud to take an hour break but only half of it would be paid which sucked as i always ended up taking the hour lol
