Breaks/ Shifts

Hello!!!

I figured people who already have the job would know this, I went to the Montreal interviews and I don't recall hearing anything about how many breaks / lunches we get for however long our shift is. Here at my job i get a 15 min break for 5 hrs of under, 2 15's for 6 hrs ...etc etc, so ya I don't want to work a 15 hour shift with no break.

Also what is the longest shift that you can work, I hopefully will be in Canadian Merch.

You get one 15 minute break for 6 hours. 1 15 minute break and one 30 minute lunch break for 8 hours.

...I think...I don't remember.

 

i know pretty hard to remeber the borin stuff...bet ur brains choc full of fun times tho!

 

Oh yes! That, and I had strange shifts...If I was working outdoors, I'd have a 30-40 minute break every hour, and 1-2 hours for lunch. That, and I didn't start actually working until 2 hours after clock in!

There are clocks in the main building that you swipe your card through. You get the card at Traditions. I don't know what you mean by "rotation" though. Elaborate on that and I can tell you.

I'm in Canadian Merch right now, we're generally scheduled for a minimum of 6 hrs, which gives you a 30 min break.  If you're scheduled for 7 hrs (I thnk it's 7 ... maybe 7.5), then you get an hour, and a 30 min.  And if you're scheduled for 10 hrs, then you get an hour, a 30 min, and a 15 min. 

 

Merch gets way more breaks than F&B. We get the short end of the stick. I think for 6 hours you get a 15 minute break. 7 hours is a 30 (but we usually took more). 8 hours you get 1 hour. When you are a server, you could work a double, 1030-930+ or a mid shift, 1130-930+, you would get an hour, sometimes less. We got it all at once, not broken up throughout the day. I would rather have it broken up. It spreads the day out and makes it go faster. But when you only have 30 minutes and you go to the Odessey building to get food, it makes it pretty tight. For months I brought my lunch and ate in the break trailer behind Canada. It was cheaper too

I don't think that will happen for me I'd end up snacking all the time at night! altho I'm a eat a lot but not put on a lot person!
