Just wondering if any international people have gone to the US with braces and what they have done about having them tightened etc, and how much they have had to pay for the privilage. I just want to know cause im part way through my treatment and not sure what to do about them??? Thanks
Hey! im in tghe same boat, and i decide to remove them until i came back, cuz there is really expensive, infact my clinic have one clinic over there, and they recommended to me stop the treatmeant cuz over there will be very expensive, the doctor said that he will made me a new diagnostic cuz every doctor have their "tricks" so probably he will have to remove the ones i had and put me a new ones, so u will be doing half the treatmant again and came back and start with the one u alredy had, thats what i think, but maybe someone who alredy was there with braces can came and answer this better, cuz im looking what to do too!!! but until now i will remove them XxX Ely
I would imagine as you said, it would cost an arm and a leg. Ask your orthodontist and see what he/she thinks is best.
thanks guys, i think im gunna have them removed and just hope that the retainer does its job and my teeth stay in the right place. that way i dont have to worry about what i eat either!!
depending how long youve had them on, it shud be fine without the retainers but wearing the retainers at night wud help
They should be fine with the retainer. I had my braces out just before I went and had to wear my retainer for the first 6 months (I literallu got them 3 days before the flight...I was so worried about lisping forever that I talked non stop before I went to get used to them!) I was also worried about the retainers coming loose while I was there, but luckily they stayed pretty much as they had been put in!
how long have u using the braces kimmy? i have just 5 months with them so my ortho didnt recommend the retainer for me, he said since i still need more than a year of treatment my teeths will move anyway with the retainers, and i have to use the 24/7 if i want some of them dont move, but other will move anyway cuz they arent in their place, so i decide not to use them and satrt again when i came back, but i was just starting the traeatment so if u have more time with them maybe the retainers will work for u!
ive only had them on since october but they are straight now so i will just wear the retainer at night. Cant wait to be able to eat something and not have to check if i got it in my brace though!!! Thanks everyone
