Right, I know that this might sound totally weird and random but I thought where else can I ask these questions, but the trusty WDWIP forums!

I am a lady and starting over at WDW in just over 3 months time and I've been starting to think a little more about what I should take with me and what new things I need to buy before flying out there. And one item of clothing that I have been thinking about are bras. Now, it might seem quite odd but I do over think things and my bra size is not that common, so I'll have to buy beforehand.

I've been thinking about what sort of bras I will need for the work side of Disney? I've seen only a few pictures of the uniforms of the UK Pavilion and I can see that the top is white but was wondering how shear it is? Are bras quite visible through it? Can you wear a vest top underneath? Is there a Disney look with regards to bras and visibility? What if lace is visible?

So yeah...bit strange but I'm sure quite a few are thinking about it! LOL! ;D

    Hey Kim!

As crazy as it sounds, the managers in the UK Pavilion can be quite picky when it comes to bra colour. For F&B we can only wear plain white or nude coloured bras.
A lot of the costumes look like they have been worn since the 1980s and so are sometimes on the thin and faded side so black, coloured or patterned bras are easy to spot. Good that you're planning ahead and my advise is just buy some white bras to bring with you :)

yeah, some of the shirts especially in F&B are reallllllly old and very thin, i personally used to wear a tshirt style bra with no lace or anything or a lacey one and put a little camisole top on over - if your going to be in merch youl be wearing the white blouse and again they can be pretty see through so maybe try and get some plain white bras with no lace?
Theres a great underwear shop at florida mall (or maybe mall at millenia) called Fredricks of Hollywood - really nice stuff in there from basic everyday undies to a little more, ahem,"special occasion" stuff! but all really nice and not that expensive if i remember. I was never a fan of victoria's secret - the sizing in there is rubbish! you can also get cheap basic bras from walmart (i know, not very sexy sounding but good for basic everyday stuff that wont break the bank!)

PS: If your guna be in F&B youl be wearing a yellow shirt, when you go to get your costume try and find the most yellow shirts you can and nab them,a lot of the shirts have been worn and washed so much that they are very pale yellow and the fabric can be pretty thin, just a tip :)

Thanks guys for all the replies! Very helpful! I think white t shirt bras are the way to go!

So it's okay to wear a vest top underneath the white-yellow top?

i pretty much always did when i was there, obviously the managers were different than so dunno if they make a big deal out of it now - i wouldnt imagine it being a problem tho to be honest,i used to wear it just incase the rain came on whilst i was walking to work/serving in an outside section because a pale yellow cotton shirt + rain = peep show at the Rose & Crown! not a good look! (altho may have bumped up the tips a bit more!!!!) :p

LOL No, I wouldn't have thought that would be a good outcome! ;D

Also with washing your uniform, did you do it all yourselves or sign it in and out of the costume place?

i washed my own uniforms myself, you get to take 5 sets (5 shirts,5 skirts,5aprons etc) i personally just liked to have my own and to use my own washing powder etc (i liked them to smell nice!!!!) the washing machine and dryer we had at the commons was really fast and seeing as the electric is all included in your rent i used to use them alllll the time! (in the commons the washer and dryer are in your apartment but i think for all the other housing complexes theres a laundry room??
also,if you go in everyday and want to go pick up your costume your guna have to go in earlier than if you get dressed at home,as you have to go in,find the costume in the right sizes, get them checked out at the desk, change into it etc

Yeah, that's what I want to do - my own washing, I'm a little OCD when it comes to my clothes washing!

Yeah, and also must save time as well. I'm late enough as it is without adding any more delays to my schedule! LOL! ;D

My conversation with one of my snottier managers went a little like this...
Manager: "Emma, are you wearing a dark coloured bra?"
Me peering down my top: "Yes, yes I am."
Manager: "I can see that, your underwear needs to be white or niewd (that's how she pronounced it lol).

So that answers that bit of your question haha. You're allowed to wear tops under your tops, as long as they're white...but you'll probably boil if you do. The merch tops can go a bit see through if it rains though.

(fingers crossed for applictions on the 21st,would KILL to be going back :) )

I have the same problem at my current work but refuse to buy white or nude colour bras, A) I cant afford them and B) if its uniform standard they should give us some money towards its! But it's not like they dont tell men what colour boxers to wear, esp when you can sometimes see the waistband or whatever over the top of the trousers.

Victoria Secret has some lovely stuff, but their sizes are weird and they are expensive, paying for the name I guess. I'm going to buy new ones before I go out. If all else fails I'll wear a shirt underneath, I do that now :) and its not so bad. :) x

i see where your coming from regarding the cost BUT at disney if your told to wear white/nude undies then you pretty much have to do as your told (this is pretty much how it works at disney, sometimes you have to just nod and smile and do what your asked!) I always thought about it in terms of getting sent home (when i was over there people got terminated for really stupid things (eg 1 guy got sent home for not having had a shave that morning.....yes,im being serious) If you get any sort of reprimand within the first 90 days you pretty much can be sent home,as the first 90 days are your probation period,so best advice i can give - do what they say, when they said it and dont make a fuss!!!!! and besides, its not a lot to ask of us to wear appropriate underwear :)

For not having a shave?! That is crazy... I see what they mean that image is everything. What else are they likely to have an issue with apart from underwear? Its not a lot to ask, hense why I normally wear a shirt underneath my shirt as with my current work shirts they are very see through and the tiniest bit of rain makes them see through, even white/nude bras are highly visible through them >< lol x

Yeah they can be pretty strict with apperance, usually just with hair colour and style and make up,as long as you keep in mind that less is always more in disney youl be fine!

Thats great to know, thank you? What about nails? I understand they must not be too long or painted wildly, I've been growing mine for a while now after 20yrs of always biting them lol, but at the moment they break easily. Don't really want to get told off about it esp when there is not a lot I can do about it x

you cant wear any nail polish to work at all,i (an more or less every other girl at the time!) used to have acrylic nails - theres a great beauty spa around the corner from the commons that does gel acrylic nails with white tips for really cheap,i had them on for pretty much my whole prrogram and nothing was ever said about it....even tho they were pretty long......id go with short natural nails for the first few weeks and then see if anyone else has acrylics etc coz the managers are all different now so i have no idea if thats still allowed or anything! :)

Thats great advice thank you! I've tried false nails before and find them 'heavy' in a sense and wanting to rip them off. Think its due to me only been growing my nails over the last year or so properly, can't afford to damage them any more as they are so weak at the moment. Would clear be accpeted?

yeah i think you would be fine with clear polish,i dont think anyone would be able to tell you had it on so i wouldnt imagine it being an issue. I know what you mean about acrylics,i have very short nails and they never ever grow - i dont bite them but they are very weak and tend to just split before they get very long so i just keep them short and got the acrylics ontop (totaly killed my nails i have to admit, made them very thin and flaky for a good month or two after i came home) i just liked the way they looked :)
