hey i have a boy at home and you know what its not much different. i thought it would be so hard and yeah there are days where you think you will die you miss them so much but you stay so busy it doesnt really effect you.
I Have a GF I have been dating for 3 1/2 years that I'm going to have to be with out for 7 months. She is going to come down this summer with my family and I'm going to go back home for her birthday.

My boyfriend of 4 months broke up with me a month ago so he is now officially my ex. He broke up with me cos im going to disneyworld. Im soooo upset. I bumped into him lastnite in a nightclub...i miss him so much...i love him like crazy! AHHHHHHHHHHH! But im sure by the time i go to disney in september i should be over him and happy and single Why are boys so silly? He says he wont be able to bear being away from me when im in America so its best we are broken up....he also said he bets we'll be together when i come back...apparently he can feel it! yeh whatever...anyone think thats just a lame excuse to make me feel better???!!! xx
think theresd every possibility that he will still want you when you come back, but I think YOU may have moved on! after all this experience will change you most likely, and you may have met someone else over there too! Its just one of those thigs that you just wont know til youre there! xxxxxxx

im in the same boat, been with my bf nearly 3 years n be leaving him in June for 3 months.. after a bit of a grunt he's now really cool with it n thinks it'll be good for me so its worked out pretty well really! Dont worry bout it.... Im not!!! Annika xx
You will be so happy not to be attached when you are out there!!! And you will have changed soooo much when you get home. Any alumni will attest to how weird life is when you get home, it's the same, but nothing is the same because you're friends will never understand what it was like for you there. I dated someone before going to Florida for about 8 months...for the whole time knowing I was leaving and that was the end. It was hard to leave and for the first 2 weeks (yes, as Canadians will know, the infamous...2 WEEKS!), I cried on the phone a lot, more because I just missed home more than him I think, but then...even then we were really already broken up...I cut ties. No phone calls or emails. I was fine and never looked back. I will never regret it at all. I met lots of nice guys (and some not so nice), but 3 months into my contract, I ended up in line at the Odyssey behind the hottest UK guy. We mumbled some junk about the weather and went off to eat our lunches. That night, I asked my UK roomie all about him, but she couldn't figure out who he was (because he wasn't wearing his real nametag). A few days later, I saw him in the Commons and my Canadian friend knew who he was. My UK roomie invited me out to a limo party she was going to (that he would be at), and arranged some devious little meeting for us that night. We hung out pretty much every day after that and have been together ever since...a year and a half later...he's moving to Canada in just 2 weeks. I can't imagine what my year would have been like without him. (If you happen to read the post about the UK Lads bedroom, he's the hottie in the pic on the right!!!). Being attached in the Commons is tough...lots of temptations. I know people who made it through their year still attached. I know those who made it through their year still attached, but had lots of extracurricular fun while they were there...and I know those who didn't survive the year. Whatever, this is getting long...just have fun. I did. Shan
