i know im doing the summer program but i got an email from them today about flights and i would assume you'd have to contact them the same way we do and it said...

If you make your flight booking through another organisation: you must provide full details of your arrival information so that Disney can meet you on your arrival date.

 Email us with flight number, departure airport, and arrival time to: arrivals@yummyjobs.com

 AND please Email the same information to wdwinternationalarrivalitineraries@disney.com

I don't know anyone on my programme who booked with 'STA'. You'll get it cheaper if you do it yourself really. Virgin did have an offer on return flights at £349 but I think it might have finished now.

I only booked a one way flight because I want to travel when my programme is finished and not completely sure when I will fly back yet. I booked that thru www.ebookers.com and it was the cheapest for a single flight. Single flights also have more flexibility if you need to cancel for any reason.

the staff of the wdwip in france told me not to book a flight couse Disney would have done it for me...so..why do everyone book for himself...i've read many posts about this...

    Hi Chiyo

I think everyone has to book & pay for their own flights unless they are on the year long programme (where disney pay for your return & so only need to book a single)

I'm on the J1 visa for 6 months with UCF and i've booked through the STA website, which was bar far the cheapest I could find on the net.

I'm also planning to travel for the month at the end of my visa and have a rough idea of where i want to go/see & do etc so booked my outbound flight to orlando on my arrival date and return flight from New York a month after the end of the programme and it was £311, which I think is a pretty good price!

Hope is everyone is getting sorted!!

When I did the J1A program Disney paid for and arranged our flight out, so we didn't get a choice (although we flew United from Heathrow and had very nice seats on an almost empty plane!). On the way back I flew VA, but booked a return flight, didn't use the return and managed to get a refund on it! It depends on how flexible your ticket is.

i am so so confused. i know it doesn't take alot but i am. i am doing the year long program and i have been told from yummy jobs that i need to pay for both flights on my own, each way as singles as you cant book that far in advance.

Hmmm I think it depends on the program and what Disney are deciding to do at the time. The reason you have to buy one way tickets each way is because no tickets are valid for more than 12 months (and there's a chance that you'll be there for more than one year, even if it's by a day). I do a VA Ticketing and Airfares course, so I'm starting to understand some of the rules!

You should also bear in mind that you may have the option of extending your programme after the official end date or you can choose to travel the US after. Unless you have a really precise schedule you plan to stick to, I personally think it's unwise to get a return. They are less flexible so if for any reason you want to change the date of your return flight you will have to pay. Plus there's always a chance you won't like the programme or you get termed in which case you'll need an earlier flight...

I went with a single because of the reasons I mentioned. I'm likely to travel in which case I wouldn't want to fly back from Orlando anyway. Will more likely be LA or New York. I'm gonna get the ticket for the flight back when I get there coz I obviously have no idea who I will meet and stuff... anything could happen!

Also to Chiyo... at my interview they asked me if I wanted Disney to arrange my flights and I said yes. But it ended up I had to do it myself. I think Disney can do it for you so I wouldn't worry if that's what you've been told. Perhaps contact the agency in France that deal with the recruitment? They can verify for you.

In the CRP you have to pay for both ways yourself, but if you finish the program, Disney will pay for your return flight. You can book your own flight, but it's best to let Disney do it, then you get to travel together with other people doing the program too. The way it works is that the Disney people book the flight for you, then you pay them back once you arrive in Orlando, either right away, or they'll deduct around $20 a week from your paycheck.

Only thing is with disney booking.. they only do it like a month before right? I mean I am 100% sure I got a better deal than anything you could book a month before!

    Regards,
    Jamie

international service told me that disney will book the flight for me as soon as I get my visa..and if the price can be deducted from my paycheck well, less to ask to my parents...
