Well yeah, I would def do it myself, so it's out of the way and not having to worry about paying Disney back!
And it's pretty cheap anyway! Like you, I was expecting prices to be near a grand, so it's good that they're around £400/£500!

We got told at the interviews that it's a good idea to book a direct flight because even tho they are more expensive, a lot of bags get lost at the ones which change either in NY or in Miami. :)

Oh yeah, that's a point, try and make it a direct flight! Ughhh imagine if you got your bags lost  ALL your stuff for the whole YEAR in Florida, gone forever!!!

Disney have a tendancy to book indirect flights which is 14hrs+! The normal 9 hours is bad enough! That's why I want to book it myself. I found a virgin flight for £339 and think that's very reasonable so i'd rather book it myself and let them refund me the money at the end when i'm more than likely going to be very poor! I also have the peace of mind knowing i'll get to the commons at bout 5.30pm which is enough time to meet my room mates, unpack a little and get some food rather than have to get in when it's late and everyone's asleep!

That sounds like a good idea :)

Sorry about the other day btw Elle! I didn't mean to call you a moron, it was more directed at the people who didn't get thru to cheer them up a lil! But congrats anyway, i'm glad we did get a few people accepted from this forum :D

I know it's early, but I've been looking for flights in December (I start on the 2nd) and they seem to be really expensive! The cheapest I've found is £530!! I'm just wondering if anyone has a better idea about prices - will they get cheaper the clsoer we get to December? I'm just curious so I know how much money to save! :D

Fantastic website for finding deals.......I'm not sure if this site helps with U.K. departures but it's worth a shot...There was a flight from Toronto to Orlando the other day for $28! I couldn't believe it! With tax and everything it came to be $180 roundtrip...If I could have swung it I definitely would have been Disney bound! ha ha

I found a BA flight for the 2nd Dec for £399 and a Virgin one for £401. Check statravel.co.uk you'll get an even better price if you're a student. You just have to get one of their isic cards for about £9.

Anyone travelled with Virgin? I've flown BA before and had a great time, staff were great etc. but will likely be flying with Virgin this time and want to know if they're as good, if not better than BA.

Iv travelled wiv virgin before, theyre ok-not as polite i dont think but definately prefer BA, im goin wiv virgin wen i fly out this time thou cos its cheaper lol x

  17. I've always flown with Virgin and they have always been good with us. I mean of course after 9 hrs on the flight they may be a bit cranky but we all will. No one likes to be cooped up like that for 9 hours :)

Last 3 times iv been with virgin to orlando the flight has been delayed at least 5 hours each time there and back.

This is quite a regular thing on the orlando route with virgin unfortunatly :'(

check out www.flightstats.com to see how often your flight leaves on time.

5 hour delays? I don't think I could cope with that! Hmm, will check out the stats and may stick with BA then. They were so great last time, some witch behind me kicked my chair because I lay it back and hit me on the back of the head so they moved me to first class and were very nice to me. The 7 hour flight was easy then with my own lie-back seat and champagne on tap! lol
