i was just wondering at the moment my i have my credit card and contact lenses come straight out of my halifax account by direct debit...obviously while we are there we will get paid into our vista/suntrust account. my savings wont last the whole ear for these debits so is it possible to transfer money from vista/suntrust to our british bank for these payments? or will i have to find an altrnative?
Most banks will charge you to do this, however there is a way around this... Open a Paypal account... You can withdraw funds from your US account into your Paypal account, then deposit from your paypal account into your UK bank account. There is a small currency conversion fee for doing this, i believe about 2.5%, otherwise its free Hope that helps! Colin
