i was reading the booklet, i was wondering what is provided and isnt... are thereany pillows provided? what about quilts and stuff etc etc
as far as I'm aware they provide nothing but the mattress. I've already got a bed-in-a-bag waiting to go out with me, and wallmart will sell pillows dirt cheap too. highly recomment doing it this way. bed-in-a-bag cost me about 60 dollars and it has everything; sheets, covers, comforter...
oo where'd you get that from? Sounds like a plan seeing as I probably won't be at the commons until about 7
Amy- you won't be going to the commons. It will be vista or chatham cause ur doing the summer program. What day of the week are you arriving? i forget. Bedding is best purchased from Wal-Mart. Crap is that there's no Wal-Mart bus on Sundays which is when most arrive, so I'll be cabbing it to wal-mart the day I arrive and buying bedding. Packing it is a waste of space. Word to anyone out there who hasn't slept on the mattresses, they suck. I totally recommend getting a mattress pad too. Brynna
is there any where that sell duvets? as i love mine and couldn't live with out one, or is it too hot for them
depends on how low u set ur air conditioning really. Some people use duvets. must remember though that the rest of ur apt might not have a duvet and therefor might not want the temp sooo low. I dunno where else to get bedding then walmart. U could prob find anything there. it's massive
There is a Bed Bath and Beyond Not too far away, little more expensive than Wal Mart, and you'd have to take a cab... http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/ Kissimmee 3212 North John Young Parkway Kissimmee, FL 34741 (407) 847-4468 According to their Directions, the store is 14minutes away from Commons
my parents went to Bed bath and Beyond for me a few weeks ago and brought it back with them. It's going to be used as padding for stuff on the way out! And obviously, with the amount of things I know I'll end up buying, I won't take a great deal with me in the first place, so it fills up the suitcase! But it's not huge and can be folded down. Right now they have a sale on so some of the kits go for about 40 dollars, mine was not much more, I paid my parents 26 pounds for it all and it's got everything I'm going to need. I always miss a duvet but I have learned to love a comforter too. It's really just a thin duvet and I prefer it to the sheet/blanket thing you get in hotels and stuff.
Oh yeah, knew that about the Commons- not quite sure why I put it! I arrive on the Sunday, so again no Wal-Mart bus... does it even open that late?! (Everything shuts down over here at about 5 on Sundays...) I've heard that the beds are a different size to British ones, but are the duvets too, or can you bring sheets over from home just to save a bit of cash?
the twin beds in america I think are smaller than british single beds. They are close so sheets will more or less fit. Duvets would work though, no reason why they shouldn't as they don't really ever need to be an exact match!
true, I just have a weird thing about them having to fit into sheets properly- it really annoys me when there's more duvet on one side than another. Odd? Me? As if Hmmm, might take some not-fitted sheets for my bed until I can find some fitted ones. Or just learn not to be fussy, as I literally can't really afford to be!!
twin beds are smaller than singles? this is going to kill me i love my double i have vision of ending up on the floor dont disney do like a pack u can buy with bedding and stuff in it as well?not that i intend on getting it - its a trip to walmart in a cab for me when i arrive gotta get the bed sorted asap cant be doing with an uncomy bed. are the mattresses those awful plastic coated ones?
They sure are! And Wal Mart is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, probably 365 days a year (if not it's gotta be close to 360 days anyway).
