ok i know there are lots of talk about the bedding that we should bring or what is provided but no one says anything about a comforter. Is that something that i should be looking for as well when i get there? thaks for your help!!
Yep, I do believe you need to supply that youself. I bought a really thin comforter that came vacuum packed so I can fit it in my suitcase as you don't get to go to the store untill your second day. I'd have to be cold sleeping the first night.
As far as I can remember, I brought my own bedding but they insisted I take theirs too. They hand you this huge sack of stuff. I think it was a fitted sheet, sheet, and a thin blanket, pillow case and a pillow. This was in '04 so my memory is a bit rusty. I can't really remember anything about towels. I think some of those sacks have new bedding and others are washed(don't worry they use the industrial stuff) None of us ending up using that bedding in the end(maybe 1 roomie did for a night) and just left it in our hall closet so that when people crashed at ours we had something for them. One of my roomies even took apart her bed and put the frame into the hall closet so her two mattresses were right on the floor, looked pretty comfy. I think she did it for comfort and because her frame was noisy or something. Hope that helps!
does anyone know the measurements of the bed so i can bring my own bed sheet incase i don't have time to go on my first day to walmart
well the measurement here in Canada is called "Full" because it's just a bit bigger than a "single" Not sure what the UK equivalent is. The "Full" size is a lot more popular in the US so I hard a bugger of a time trying to find the sheets before I left. I think I ended up with "single" sheets that worked out fine, the fitted sheet was just a bit tight and had to be readjusted every once and again, but I also had a foam mattress topper for comfort, so that might've contributed to the tightness.
I brought my own sheets and duvet from the uk- and a single set fits the beds just fine! I wouldnt worry too much about the 1st night- you'll probably be so tired you'll sleep on the floor if necessary- no pillows didnt bother me in the slightest. You have to be up ridiculously early the first day as well! Charlotte x
The UK measurements will be in your welcome pack. The thing is none of the fitted sheets will fit, so I bought flat sheets for the first night. Also vacuum packed my duvet and took that with me. So glad because everyone else in my house was cold!
