so here is my question. being from south africa and all, not a lot of international acts come to our country. i've been browsing the internet and see that quite a lot of bands visit orlando. they play at places such as house of blues(located in downtown disney), hard rock live, the social, firestone club and so forth. to the cast members already busy with their program... what are the chances of us being able to go and watch some bands!!??? i know that transport is probably gonna be a issue. have you guys found ways of still going to watch acts? thanks for letting me know!
The easiest place to get to in your list is House of Blues as there is a bus to Downtown Disney from all the complexes. The only issue you will have is your schedule. I know for Hard Rock Live then there is the I-bus (think that's what it is called) that goes there though it does take an age to get there. Don't know about the others sorry.
HOB seemed to be a really nice venue when i went there before. i guess depending on the bands you may have to travel a bit further...i know there's a venue called the talent farm (somewhere in fl), but i think that's for smallerish bands
I'm planning on going to see live bands perform whenever possible! it should all be easy enough to get to, it does just depend on our work schedules!
March 3rd, Motley Crue...end of! If Guns N' Roses do a tour for Chinese Democracy, my life will be complete!
when are you guys gonna go over? i hope there are gonna be people who wanna go watch shows with me. it sucks going alone!!!! im arriving 10 march. anyone else gonna be there same time as me so we can go watch some bands??
February 3rd so I'm always gonna be up for seeing as many bands as possible. Everything from Slipknot to Girls Aloud!
Looks like when we get there we are gonna have to make friends with people who have cars to get us to the shows in town more easily! i checked yesterday that there are 2 clubs in town(about 18miles from where we live) that have awesome bands playing there. check out thesocial and club firestone on the web. seems like they are situated almost next to one another in the same road in town.
Ah, love Live Music. Been to A LOT of gigs. Everything from Cliff Richard, Hayseed dixie, Eminem to Justin Timberlake and Bryan Adams
Oh my GOD I wish I was down there for that. I saw them this past July... brilllllliiiiantttttt. HOB is a cool place, even when there aren't any shows going on. There's a restaurant/bar separated from the venue that has great food and a cool atmosphere. As for the venue thing, I have seen a couple of cool acts on their calendar, so I will definitely be getting ones of their pamphlets every month. PS I am very happy to see other people who like Slipknot, Crue, GnR... My brother was joking one night, "are you allowed to listen to metal when you work at Disney?" lmao hope so!! As for gigs in Orlando, that is a very common stop on the average tour of most bands, so keep an eye out on your fave bands website. Downtown O-town is really not far at all from LBV, so if you have a group of people going, it wouldn't be too expensive for cabs. I think the embarkment fee is usually aroung 2.50-3.00 plus about 2.00 per mile. There's also the bus system Lynx... I've never used it before but I've seen buses/stops everywhere and they seem to come pretty often.
When I was there, Ozfest stopped by down in West Palm Beach, right down the road... so for all you metal fans, if they stop by again.. there you go.
oh my gosh. warped tour and ozzfest!!? im very happy there are going to be other metalheads at disney!!!! it sounds like we are gonna be in for a treat!! all us music lovers must definitely keep in touch before/when we get there so that we can make the most of what florida's music scene has to offer!
