I just read over some of the details and noticed something I missed Authentic representation of Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, United Kingdom, Sub-Saharan Africa, Brazil, Nepal, Korea. Argentina, or the Caribbean. So....does that mean that if I'm Chinese but come from Canada, I'd be able to work in the China pavilion? Because I have a dual citizenship, does it mean I can work in either Canada or China?
definately depends on your citizenship. But Also the Chinese Pavillion is a participant to WDW. If you applied in the College Program rather than CP you could work in Animal Kingdom as there is the Asia section of AK
hm......if canada's not easy to get into, maybe i can apply for the chinese pavilion! but i plan to go for the CP
Wait, since when have the Netherlands been on that list? We can only apply for the J1-Academic or the Graduate Program. There's no pavilion for us, and we don't look like we belong in Animal Kingdom either. I'm confused now. I'm pretty certain Holland wasn't on that list when I applied 6 months ago or so.
Hey, that's correct. I'm from the Netherlands as well and applied for the J1-Academic program. A few months ago the Netherlands has been added to the country list, don't ask me why. But if I can guess, I think it is because there is a special coperation between the Walt Disney World Resort and Roc Leijgraaf. Everybody who represents the Netherlands can work trough the hotel/resorts, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM Studios. Because we don't have an own pavilion at Epcot's Word Showcase. Did you applied trough Yummy jobs and did you get any response? I am curious because I am still waiting after a long time now. Groetjes / greets, Jason
I am confused, where did you find that information ??? on the disney employment website it says: Cultural Representative Program - Cultural Representatives share their culture and customs with our Guests who come from all over the world. To qualify for this program, you must authentically represent one of the countries or regions recreated in look and feel at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Countries currently represented include: Brazil Botswana Canada China France Germany India Indonesia Italy Japan Lesotho Mexico Morocco Namibia Nepal Norway South Africa Thailand United Kingdom Zimbabwe
Hi Jason! Yeah, I applied though Yummy Jobs, they told me I could only apply for the J1 or the Graduate Program. The specifically told me the CRP was not an option. period. I got accepted into the J1-Academic Program, will be leaving for WDW in 10 days, August 19th. I got a response only 1 or 2 days after I applied, so I didn't have to wait long. Had to wait several months to get a phone interview though... I had a phone interview with someone from WDW, not someone from Yummy Jobs, and got a call from Yummy Jobs about a week later I think, telling me I had been accepted. All in all it didn't take me too much time to get accepted really, I first emailed YJ at the end of February and I got accepted at the beginning of June if I remember correctly. I'm quite curious as to where you got the info about Holland being added to that list though, none of the lists I've seen so far have Holland or Belgium on it. Groetjes!
Everybody from the Netherlands can only apply for the J1-Academic program or graduate program. We cannot apply for the cultural representatives program, because we don't have an own pavilion or any background at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I found on this wdwip.com that the Netherlands can apply too. And I heard from YJ that the Netherlands has been added a couple of months ago. BTW really cool that you are going! On the moment I'm in Orlando too. Only for a holiday , what is pretty cool. I am so interested in your stories if you'll be there. Do you have a sort of weblog on the internet about your adventures there? Should be great to read! Oke, have a great time here in Orlando!! Groetjes, Jason
Ah I see, that's a bit weird how YJ didn't tell me about that. Oh well, doesn't matter for me anymore anyway. You're in orlando huh, that's cool, I've never been to America at all, wonder if it's as amazing as everyone says it is. Yeah, I'm gonna try and keep a weblog when I'm out there, the address is heidispanjaart.waarbenjij.nu , it's in Dutch though, so if anyone else reads this, don't bother trying to read my weblog. Enjoy the rest of your holiday! Toodles!
That's great! Than I can read your adventures. BTW, what a mess with the university and YJ. I hope that the rest is going to be smoother. It is great here. The tempatures are rising again and WDW is still standing! So no worries about that. Suc6, Jason
