Okay, Nicola said I was one of 4 canadians to be placed in attractions...just wondering if you other 3 were on these boards??? Also, I seem to remember something about attractions people working 10hour shifts but only 4 days a week, anyone know if this is true? Anyone else for attractions for other countries???
Hey Tessa! I'm Canadian attractions too! Nicola told me that there's a guy leaving for attractions in March (maybe) but I haven't heard anything about anyone else in attractions yet. Good question about the hours though...I totally forgot to ask Nicola about that...hopefully someone else will come along and let us know
hey, thats awesome!!! I wish we were going at the same time so we could fly down together. I'm really hoping to find a plane buddy, I hate flying alone sooo much! I just get so bored and want to chat to strangers lol!
I'm attractions on the ICP (seeing as there aint no Ireland pavilion at Epcot! ) and I'm totally excited about it! As I told Tessa though, I dont think (from what I know, anyway) that the hours for attractions differ from everyone esle.... My guess would be that we're the same as everyone-8 hours a day with the option of overtime (which, in attractions is easy to get as far as I know!) I'll ask Alexis when I ring her on the 19th though! *calls to evil henchmen* Put eet on ze leest! *watches the thunder & lightening while this happens* Dramatic-y... Kev
I found an old post that says some people work 5/2 (5 days on, 2 days off) with 6-8 hour shifts and others work 4/3 (4 days on, 3 days off) with 8-10 hour shifts.
Hei. I got a job in Attraction on the Norwegian Pavillion, and lokking forward to it. I realy want to go right now,but my departure arent before june so I got som time left. Anyone know what we actually do in attraction? Guess I didnt pay enough attention during the presentation..
JB, In Norway's case, Attractions involves running The Maelstrom, a boat ride and film. You'll be helping guests on and off the ride, operating the ride and possibly performing the safety spiel before the film etc. Nothing too hard-but definately exciting! From personal experience, I can say you're working on what's definately the best ride at World Showcase at Epcot You're so lucky!!! We were on the Maelstrom once and it broke down... And this Norweigan CM girl came (literally) skipping into the room to see if we were ok! It was so funny! We just heard this door open and this girl in full Norweigan costume comes skipping and bouncing into the room, waving and smiling Certainly made us all feel better! And the Maelstrom is just a very cool ride anyway "Ye are noht thee feerst to paas thees way. And ye shaaal not bee thee laast" I love that accent!!! Kev P.S. Say hello to those Polar Bears for me if the ride breaks down... That was our boat-stop That was much fun. REALLY made me want to be a CM! P.P.S. Angela, no problemo!
I love the pavillions but Maelstrom is like the best attraction within there. That and the red phone booth in England, I love that thing. Italy rocks too, oh well, let's just say they all are awesome.
Thanks for clearing up some things for me KC, really looking forward to going now, hope time flys by since i still have 6 months to my daparture.
I'll be one of the 4 people going for attractions. Sounds like itll be fun eh tessa.. funny weve been talking for months now and we both got in and the same position!!.
Hi there everyone! I have not worked in the Canadian Pavillion for about 18 months now, but I used to do both attractions and merchandise. And depending on the line picks that happen throughout the year, and when you arrive, you may be working a 4/3 shift, where you work 10 hours days for 4 days, and have 4 days off, or you may be working a 5/2 shift, where you workabout 8 hour days, and have 2 days off. I know that Judy Goldfarb was our scheduler at the time at CDS, she is great! (and also shares my birthday). But for senority, when picking your line for shifts (when this happens while you are there), and (i think only twice in your almost 12 month contract), it goes by arrival group, and then within that, it will go by your Social Security Number that you get those first few days that you get to FL. I hope this helps you all! And I'm so jealous that you are all representing us down there this coming here! If you have any more questions ask away! Tarah Cobble Hill, BC
Hey Tarah, thanks for all the info! I hope I can get a 4/3 10 hour shifts deal, that sounds sweet! I have a little question for ya, about how many days from the time we arrive will it be until we start out actually on the job training? P.S. where in the world is Cobble Hill in BC! LOL! I'm from Fort Langley BC
Me I want to go to of course All disney Parks test all attractions, but I really want to test Expedition Everest!!!!!!
