I was thinking if i get the job I would like to arrive a week early so i can enjoy the parks a little before i start working. Do they allow this at all and do i have to pay for tickets since i havent started working yet or do they give you the id card right away
you would have to pay for your tickets, unless you can find someone from here to go with then you can use their maingate pass. and it depends on the type of visa you have, it might not allow you into the country a week early.
I think you get your id on your second or third day from what I've read. I was thinking about going down a few days early too, but not so much to do the parks. ...I keep trying to answer your questions even though I haven't actually gone yet, I'm sorry! I'm sure someone will post who knows for sure.
Of course I have a year so it not like the parks wont be there when i want to go maybe on some days off i will go. ;D
you only get your id, once you have attended traditions, think of it as a reward for one of the most boring days ever!
Not to forget that some of us have to attend traditions a second time ... *yawn* It's defintitely not a problem to arrive there a few days earlier. But u need to get a hotel for that duration.
dont get me wrong, i love that i get to go to tradtions, i just hate that i have to sit thru it all over again. i shall try not to be hungover this time.
good point.... notes to self, do not go to PI and stay up til 3am the night before ur 7am start for traditions
Yup no ID until traditions (which I saw last year could be your 5th day if you're on the CR 1 year program). Which means if you want to go to the parks your on your own and you wont be reimbursed (although my roomates got in with their housing ID and paper that says when you'll be going to traditions... all depends on whos working the maingate). You also can't "check in" to your housing until your arrival date so again you're on your own there... and then theres the possible work visa issues.
So when I arrive how many days do they give you before tradtions start. I would still go to the parks if they give you a few days to get moved in.
Last year on my program Traditions was Friday and I moved in Tuesday. I had friends who also arrived on the same tuesday and their traditions was Saturday so you have about 4-5 days wait for Traditions.
Sorta like your Disney orientation. History/overview of the company and what's expected of you in your job. Can either be a 4 or 8 hour course (I had 4, I know people who had 8. Either way you learn the same things it just depends how many examples/how dragged out it is). Oh and it's your first payed day of work.
So you DEFINATELY cannot check in early? My arrival date is June 5th and a girl on my course who's doing it as well is convinced she can arrive on June 4th.
I told her that and she was all "uh yeah you can! its only one day" Grr. It's like making a hotel reservation...you are hardly gonna show up a day early and be like "I wanna check in now!"
Can we seriously get into florida early? i thought we wer only allowed to stay 30 days aftr r contract ends? ino we defo cnt register until the 5th.
For me I arrive on the 13th and Traditions is on the 15th. So I guess it changes from ground to group.
wow you're going REALLY soon! I'm so jealous! I'm still waiting to hear back from my f2f interview. Hope u have a fab time! xxx
