no, you wont have traditions until a few days in, maybe the 3rd or 4th day after you arrive so dont worry! the day you arrive is a "free" day, there isnt anything actually planned, you just move in and meet your room mates etc and do your own thing, when you arrive you will get a welcome pack with your key in it and a small time table to tell you what your doing for the first few days, you will most likely have meetings at the housing complex to start with, to go over info to do with housing (rules and regs, form filling etc) but they wont start until the next day :)

The arrival date you've been given is just that... and arrival date. Some people don't arrive until gone midnight.
Of course, you will be thrown into meetings straight away on the following day. There is a fair bit of paperwork in the first couple of days, and Traditions itself won't be until Friday or Saturday following your arrival. Saying that, it really is a hectic few days, and be prepared to take slightly longer to get over jetlag than you would for a holiday. Not to sound negative or anything, but it's better to be prepared for the worst. It's still really good fun, and you'll meet so many amazing people. Just prepare for not very much sleep in the first couple of weeks!

yeah, the first 2 or 3 weeks are so busy, you really wont get a lot of sleep as the first lot of meetings over the first few days are usually early starts (8.30am if i remember...!) and youl have so much to do during the days and evenings that your feet wont touch the ground for a while!!! all good fun but yeah, prepare to be totally knackered for a while!!! ;D
