    Hi...

I was just curious as to how many of us going to Florida consider ourselves to be Disney fanatics. Did you want to go to work at WDW for the partying? Was it just because you wanted to live outside of your home country? Did you want to work there just because it's Disney?

I'll have to admit to being a Disney Dork... but I'm proud of it. I loved growing up and having a bunch of family vacations with the Mouse. Loved it so much, I worked for the Disney Store for more than 7 years. So, I'd be going to work at WDW because it's Disney. Everything else that I'm getting down there is just a huge bonus!!!!

Favourite characters, anyone? Mine would have to be Eeyore, the evil queen from Snow White, Stitch, and Figment.

Favourite Disney animated feature? Definately Cinderella, and Lilo & Stitch.

I just wanted to live in the castle...so when I found out I couldn't, I decided I'd have to get a job there. It makes putting up with some of the crap at work and in the Commons a lot more bearable if you are there because you're a Disney dork, rather than there because of the job. The job can be disappointing, but spending a year there because you love it makes it a lot easier to handle.

i was totally a disney dork before getting there, but more so about the characters and the films and stuff, not so much about the history of disney............

u definately have to want to be there because u love disney or because u want the lifestyle, well in my case u did, cos the job sucked big time for me, i mean yeh there were good points and it was always good to be the floorstocker or floor slacker as we called it cos then u werent stuck in a shop for 3 or 4 hours on ur own answering dumbass questions and smiling, wen really u had this huge hangover from the night before!!! altho the best way to pass that time is to call thru to one of the other shops and chat to another cast member............ooopppppp so naughty but sometimes u had to do it to keep urself sane!!!

altho i have to admit to loving kidcot.........apart from the few times wen huge groups of mexican kids would bombard u and didnt know wat a queue was, oh sorry, i mean a line, DO NOT USE THE WORD QUEUE IN THE STATES COS THEY LOOK AT U LIKE A GORMLESS FISH!!

well those kids knew wat a line was by the end of the day. and i swear tho, if one more american kiddy stood in front of me and demanded STAMP MY MASK in the most whinny voice ever, i may have had to break their mask in half!!! lol

hey shan did u ever get hit over the head by a mask by an exitable kid??? lol
and u remember wen sometimes we would pass messages between uk and canada on the masks, i always used to send messages on a bit of paper with a kid, made them give it to canada cast member and then id get one back from another kid who had been in canada!! great fun!!!

but yeh i was a total disney dork before i left and getting to go to the parks and see wishes and illuminations kept me going most of the time

I got smacked many a time.  I had a million paper cuts on my hands and even had one on my cheek from being smacked.  Then there was the time I got poked in the eye by one of those damn stars!!!! Get more annoying with the stars!!! Stamping and putting on the thing was fine, but signing ALL the stars used to drive us mad!! We'd sign them and then put them in the box, so they'd get random names sometimes.

By the way, it was my fault i got poked in the eye...I was taking masks out of the cupboard and hit the door and it knocked a bunch of them back in my face and cut my eye! OW!!!

I loved when you'd get up to get masks or whatever and some kid would take the big chair and you'd have to boot them!

We'd play lots of phone games between the shops...or just randomly call and hang up.

Gotta admit... Ona was the reason that I started this thread. I've read all about her needing to work for Disney and being a founding member of the Disney Dorks.... :p

I had heard somewhere that there really weren't a whole lot of them at the Commons and I was getting a little worried. I couldn't imagine working for Disney and not loving the parks, the movies and the characters.
