arachnophobia!!!

i have a great fear of spiders.......... anyone have any stories of spiders in the apartments?? because i know florida has some HUGE spiders...

 

I read in the patterson court thread that black widows are native in florida lol

 

Their also native where I live in canada...and in my 22 years of life, I've only seen one once when I was like 9 and we had a firewood pile

 

there are also brown widows and red widows....all poisonous!!....and the infamous brown reclouse spider....very bad!!! i have also heard that some parts of florida have scorpions.....BUT i also heard that the apartments are treated for pests...haha so hopefully its ok

 

just be thankful u dont have a fear of moths and butterflies, theres no gettin away from them damn things in florida. the butterflies are that big they look like theyre on string. hayleys worse nightmare come to life!

 

Or the lovebugs! They're everywhere when it's season for it

But I didn't see a single spider during my year there...

 

the love bugs are just weird looking. Spiders a different matter. I am sure God gave them those extra legs and eyes just to creep us out!!!

 

I hate spiders but I'm mostly dreading the lovebug seasons in September and May. The photos i've seen of them are horrible!

 

I don't think the problem is so much spiders as it is cockroaches and beetles and lizards and snakes!

 

guh.. snakes.. I don't know what I hate more... snakes or spiders. :-[

 

we saw a lot of banana spiders on vacation, they look evil and deadly.

There harmless though

 

i have heard that we should bring containers to keep our food in during the "love bug season"....i hope its not that bad!

 

you'll need containers anyway hun cos of the ants

 

are you serious? it sounds like we are living in a jungle....

 

lol, yeh im serious! can never leave food out, always in the fridge or in containers or you'll be invaded with them lol

I can put up with some bugs, it's better than Ontario!

 

haha i know fire ants can give a painful bite....i am gonna bring my own bug killer...and ant traps.....the worst is getting in the shower and then seeing a spider or ant or whatever crawl up the wall...i hate that!

 

Snakes... I've had a run in with a snake at work, though it was DAK, so it was a place were animals were everywhere you looked, I was cleaning a restroom came out and looked up to see the red black and yellow skin... course i was not paying attention in snake class... and yes in DAk i did get one of them

 

are they not the dangerous ones if they are red black and yellow? there is a little rhyme about which colours they are but i cant remember it.
i remember hearing from my friend that one of the custodial guys at epcot was bitten by a snak while we were out there.

I don't like bugs either but i think as long as you keep the apartment clean and all the food put away you'll be ok. and just don't think about them, especially when you're trying to go to sleep lol. That's one of my big fears, bugs in my bed ahhhh ;D
