Hey there, so I've been looking at all the threads on here about applications and wondered if anyone could help, in September I'll be going into my final year at uni and want to apply for the CRP for 2013, however my graduation will be November 2013 and I don't want to miss that. Is it right that there are applications open in January and then in June? So it would perhaps make it better for me to wait till January to apply? Any light shed on this would be great :D thanks in advance guys :D

Hii :) Theres a bunch of us who applied in January and we're currently waiting to find out if and when we'll be going and if we get a date it would be between January and June 2013 i think so if you were to apply when the applications open you could put your availability from November or December 2013 or you could wait to apply in January..its up to you though..if you're not able to go after applying when applications open this Summer you can always reapply in January :) Good luck :)

    Hi :)

Wow that's been a long wait for you all then! My gosh, not sure how I could deal with that waiting.... but surely you'll find out soon right? (fingers crossed for you) so the June applications seem to be autumn starts and the January following year starts, this forward planning is seriously messing with my head...so say I apply in June when applications open I could select the following November as my availability? Sorry for the confusion, I just don't want to apply for the wrong dates...lol i'm such a worrier and thanks :D let me know how you do? :D

Yeah, some people who applied in January have been given dates from October 2012 to December 2012 and a load of us were put on a "wait until June" type list..some people have since been offered dates for like June and July this year as people have dropped out. It does seem like a long wait but we just hope its worth it haha :) Yeah, i'd say apply when applications open and put November 2013 as your start date (whichever date you're available) and see if you get it..its always worth a try. Good luck! :)

So some lucky people got through the process nice and quickly and others are waiting..tough, but no news is good news for now right :D yeah I think I'll put it in in June, what's the worst that could happen lol, it's just like I've seen a few other people on here saying, that if I apply and don't get it I'll have no job :/ which wouldn't be good after 4 yrs of uni lol oh well, this is disney so it's worth it :D good luck to you too :D

Yeah..they don't know how many people they need for January - June so once they've figured that they'll let us know :) Theres nothing stopping you from applying to other places and working during the application just in case. And then if you get a place you can quit your other job haha :) I'm jealous of you heading out there for the Summer! Have fun! And thanks! :)

That's fair enough, yeah true, may be the best plan to fire lots of applications out.... just wondering also if you knew when interviews are held for the two application dates? As I will be on placement so getting time of for any interview may be a challenge..... lol the summer will go too soon but it's good, have you done a summer program?

Noo it was too late before i realised there was a Summer program so i'm hoping to go the whole hog and get a chance to do a year! Haha :) I've heard applications open August so if they do the first lot of interviews (for us this time) were two weeks after we found out, and then like two weeks after that were the F2F's. Pretty quick process to begin with :)

Aww, that's such a shame, it was only by chance really that I found it, they advertised at my uni and I jumped at the idea... :D but 3 months is not long enough, so a year would be wonderful :D so you had your phone interviews over the summer? because I was reading someones blog and their f2f interview was in June...sorry for all the questions, you're very knowledgeable and helpful though by the way :D

I'm with Stacy - apply in the summer as the whole process is so long that you may as well! I dont think they will be opening applications until July as they've told us "wait-ers" that we will hear by the end of June... so I think applications will get rolling in July with first interviews in August, second ones in late August/early Sept then they will give out quick dates and have people on the wait list till december/january and then it all starts again!

The whole interview process is really quick and can mean a couple of expensive stays in London and travelling, so if u don't live nearby you would be wise to keep some pennies aside around late July/august if u can! Wish I had as I'm still in debt from travelling back and forth!

As Stacy said, you can put your availability for when you finish your course, there was a few people this year that have done that and its done them no harm!

That was when they did one lot of applications a year but they're doing two lots a year now, so our applications shut in January and we had our first interview (it wasn't a phone interview this time, it was a pre selection event which was a presentation and then interviews in groups of eight, and these were held in London and Manchester) and then the F2F's were held mid February :) So like within a month of applications closing you should be having the second lot of interviews :)

Yeah good advice here guys, thanks :) just because I'm not back in the UK until september 10th after my summer program, I don't want to make it difficult if I'm lucky, also interviews in feb would be a big no-no because of placement, hmm, stupid really, I guess the only option is to put the application in in June and see what yummy/disney have to say for themselves. you mentioned they have pre-screen in manchester? that would be better for me...as I'm up north lol and the pre-screens gotta be smaller than my prescreen for ICP this time, my gosh, like 20 of us in one interview.... any other tips, whilst we're on the subject? :) I really appreciate the advice, thanks :D

The decision on where they send people for the pre-selection interview seems quite random lol... I got the London pre-selection and in my group of 8, five of us had travelled from Scotland and one from northern Ireland! You could always wait to see what the outcome is though and what date/venue u get and then ask to swap, I know a few people did that if they couldn't make one of the days

wow yeah that is random isn't it :/ sometimes people need to think a bit about geography lol but yeah can only wait and see, were they able to alter dates then if people got interviews they were unable to attend? that's good :D have you found out the outcome yet?

Yeah its a bit random for stuff like that but i think if you live nearer to either they send you to that one, like i live nearer Manchester so i went there..but as Scotland is no where near either i think they just sent Scottish and Irish people to either.

Other tips..um..read blogs and see what kind of questions they ask..'cos if you weren't prepared some may throw you off. Like at the pre screen they asked what Disney character we were most like but in my interview he didn't want us to explain why, he said he knows enough about them to know why we would say them haha. Also, i think it really helps if you chat to people on the Facebook groups 'cos then you can all meet up before your interviews and it makes the whole process really fun! :) I think of some more tips and get back to you :) Also, Jens in the same position as me, got to wait until June :)

Oh I hope so..but that is if I'm lucky enough to get pre-screen to start with lol that's scary so if you say the wrong disney character and that's it, eek, I wonder how they know, I think I'd have to answer with Belle..but then again that could easily be a bad answer lol thanks for the tips though, will check out some blogs before I apply :) good luck to both you and Jen then :D

No not necessarily, i think its more how you answer not what you say..like they like to see that you can communicate well so like interacting with other people you're being interviewed with and listening well, like someone in my interview was like "Umm..i'm not sure..err.." for a while before answering so to me that looked not as good as someone who is like on the ball. Just relax and be yourself :)

makes sense really, just depends if the nerves get the better of you lol kinda just want to get the ball rolling now, but I guess I need to learn some patience before june, I'll have a potentially long wait to find out my fate...

I think you need to be in the Uk when you apply... or certainly you need to be in the Uk for interviews and they are one day and the next so not a lot room for movement! You should email Yummy Jobs when applications open and ask them when they roughly think interviews will be.. Seems to be a 6month rolling pattern so you could just email them in June and ask them when they think the interviews for the next bunch of CRP's will be?? xx

That's fair enough yeah, I will be back soon into september so I will probably email yummy jobs before June applications open some time later this month to get their opinion on when the best time would be for me to apply. I could wait till january to apply but it just depends how long they take to get through the process and potentially offer roles because I'd need to get a job here if I didn't get it. x
