hi all, i really need a change in my life and am looking to work abroad asap! Can anyone tell me how long the application to disney is likely to take if im accepted? Thanks ste
If you apply now and get through the phone interview you are more than likely to get an interview in March, so you will be leaving about this time next year... assuming you mean you want to apply for the Cultural Representative Program, of course.
Hey, Disney applications for the year long program seem to take quite a while... you could always put in an application, and go away before hand. Perhaps work in Canada for the ski season, I know there are places which help you get jobs there.. Goodluck with it all.
Hi Megara. Im going to apply this weekend. Do you think ive missed the November interviews then? Im from Hertfordshire too, where abouts are you? Nat x ;D
I applied at the begining of August and I got a March face to face, so I would think that the November ones are full. Jason mentioned tht it was likely that they would be so I would have to wait until March. I'm between Hemel Hempstead and Watford, where abouts are you Nat?
Oh yeah, i know. Im from Cheshunt. Do you know it? Its between Enfield and Hertford. So if im successful in the March interviews when do you think we'll be flying out there?. Im in an awkward situation because 1 of my best mates is getting married summer 2006 and the other in summer 2007. so whenever i go i will miss a wedding Nat xx
Yeah I know Chesunt, not well but I know it. If we are succesfull I would imagine it'll be about this time next year that we'll fly out. Seems to follow that March interviews leave September, November interviews leave March... Could be wrong though :-\ so you should be alright for the 2006 wedding, you might beable to get time off to go to the other one though? Megrara
Thanks for that. I thought that would the case, March people going in September. Im going to apply in the next few days. Ive done my CV but having trouble with my cover letter. I know lots of you have been speaking to somebody called Jason at yummy jobs. Can i just put Dear Jason at the top of my covering letter?. Or is that a bit rude?  ???  How did you guys address yours? Also i would prefer to work in Merchandise. do i need to mention that in the letter?? thank u xx
Don't addressit to Jason, Alexis might think you don't like her if she reads it first this is what I wrote in my cover letter- Dear sir/ Madam, I am writing to you to apply for the Cultural Representative Program at Walt Disney World. Please find attached my C.V. which I hope has all the information you need in it. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours Sincerely ..... so if that got me a phone interview I wouldn't worry too much about it ;D I was asked about my preferance between merch and F&B in my phone interview, so I wouldn't worry about that if I were you.... Any help? Megxx
Ste It doesn't always take a year to finally get to Disney. I left 2 weeks after my interview. They just need to know that you are ready to go at any possible time. This means if someone goes home after being there for like a week you can take there place on there visa. Disney would take care of all the paper work! So make sure at your interview you let them know you are ready to go right away!! Good Luck!!! Brandy
Ooooh! thanks for that Brandy... I would have said I was ready right away anyway, but I'll make more of a point of it now you've said that ;D
Hey Nat If you hav a wedding to go to disney may give you the time off. When i was there last summer for the CP my friend went home for a few days for his sister wedding and i had the choice to go home for my grandads funeral then come back. Im sure if you tell them and give them plenty of notice they will let you.XxX
