    hey kelly

here was my situation i got here in march and the morning i got here i was placed in with my now closest friend steffi from germany, she had been here for 6 months when i moved in so now she is leaving in september and i will be getting a new roomie in sept.

some other girls in bigger apartments moved in with ALL new ppl. and some with just them being new and the rest of the apartment was half way through their contract.
its hard to say really, suzie kind of just puts ppl where there is room. but the recent trend is to put all new ppl in the sam apt.

this prolly doesnt help u at all but hopefully!

    see you in sept

    hey Nichol,
if they really put all new ppl in the apts, there is a tiny bit of chance that we will get into the same APT!!! LOL ;D ;D

As great as it sounds to move into an apartment with all newbies, it just means that you have to buy a whole lot more stuff. Moving in with oldies is great because they can help you learn the ropes of living in the Commons, of the buses, of the areas, of work AND they'll be a lot of stuff that you may want to buy already in the apt (eg, TV, DVD, VCR, etc.). You get used to having roomies come and go and you get to meet a lot more people that way. I remember being so excited and so nervous to get new roomies...but they were all great!!

I wouldn't mind having new people in with me but I think I'd rather be around people who knew what they were doing lol

    Ie. the bar is that-a-way

There are signs and arrows posted to the bar...you will have no trouble finding it!!!

(I am kidding about the signs but Commoners are kind of like a rainbow...if you follow them, you'll find alcohol at the other end).

I am still a bit confused about one thing ??? - I thought we had some say (or they at least asked our preference) in what type of apt we would live in but no one has asked me yet ??? does anyone know how this works?

No- they used to, but they don't any more- think it caused too much hassle! Wish they would though! :-\

Are the apartments mixed ie boys and girls? I guess the rooms will be male or female only but what about the whole apartment?
