I'm 18 now - but when I start (waaaaay over in June) I'll be 19, turning 20 in Disney World.

... wow, haha. It just struck me that I basically have three years of my life written out right there all involving Disney :p

I'm still unsure how disturbed I should feel about missing out on a lot of adventures without the drinking thing - I mean, I'll still get to go out and party, but there will always be that 'forbidden' factor that hangs in the air.

I'll be 19 by the time I go. I'll need to dry out by that time, though!

dont worry about it guys, plenty of people are under 21 (bout 40% if not a bit more i reakon) there are places you can drink - bennigans (just like a pub/bar thing) was kinda like our local and some ppls apartments etc just DONT under ANY circumstances drink at pleasure island, or you WILL be on the next flight home!!! ;D

HEY I GOTTA QUESTION ON U ALL....i have a german license right now and i wonder how long i can drive around down there????

You can go to a local driving office i believe and get an international license, its on the FAQ here i think....

You can rent a car easily with your german license, you just can't buy a car with it. If you are looking into buying a car there ( which I don't recommend lol ) you will have to take a test at the local driving office ( very easy and you can get a handbook with all the info at the office ). You have 25 questions and can fail 5 of them. I took the test when I lived in Florida now and it was really easy and cheap ($20).

Standards for driving tests seem to be pretty low over there, don't they do a practical test? tests here in the uk are pretty tough!

Here in Germany you need to take many practical hours and do a test and it costs like a million times more! In Florida you will see on the streets that everyone gets a license, no matter how bad and crazy they drive. I don't know if you will need to take the practical test, for germans it's only the written one ( it's all in the handbook, read it carefully before you go, because they have no clue sometimes ). The written test was super easy and you can try again right away if you fail and it's only 5 bucks more lol The practical test is driving around in a circle ( sort of like a test road....at least that's what it was back in 2000 ). I think if you have your uk license already you have nothing to worry about ( besides crazy Florida drivers ). Ohh and for everyone that can....get an international drivers license in your country, sometimes it's better to have both when renting a car.

Yeah its fairly easy to get one from your local DVLA office here in the UK, didn't realise they did a practical test tho! Most US cars are autos from my recognition, so its not too difficult to drive, lol

I'm 18 now but i'll be 19 going over there (turning tomorrow hehe :D) on the 5th June to the 31st August, in ireland 18 is legal, its gonna be annoying to not be able to drink if i make 21 year old friends! Maybe us under 21s should stick together haha!
