Hey!! Im thinking of getting a car when i start work on March 11th but i have no idea how the liscence rules apply out there :-\
Ive had a full UK liscense for over 4 years but i keep reading about how u may have to resit a test at a florida centre??

Also anyone know how much a decent V6 or V8 car would set me back and how much insurance would be?? Thanks

You have to take a driving test to get a florida licence. But you're allowed to drive on your british license the 3 first months or something. The driving test only cost around $20 so it's not expensive and it's in a closed parking lot ;)

Hopefully being 22 it won't cost the earth for me =/ It'll be cool if we can add additional drivers to the insurance so we can split the cost :) Im in merch so ill be on a $7 wage to start with but ill be taking a shed load of cash out with me anyway ;)

Hey man! i'll buy car for sure. Now i'm working for it. I love cars, specially US Cars since I was a child.

I'm a v8 fan, bit i'll take a v6 this time. I'm looking for a 99/00 firebird or camaro (firebird really preffered). Its about 3-4.5k dollars. Fuel economy is good. its a classic american muscle.
The main competitor is the mustang, but i prefer Pontiac/Chevy. (General Motors F-Body)

With a little money less, you can buy a Pontiac Grand Am V6 (maybe GT). its nice car, but FWD and less sporty than the camaro/firebird.

Trucks and SUV are more expensive and they use a lot of Gas..also insurance is higher.

Ask me what you want. When do you get there?

    See ya in FL

My father is an American Citizen but has never lived in the states (well, he did but it was 45 years ago) he's planning on flying down and buying me a car (~1500) and registering it under his name as me as the second driver so he can get his first year under his insurance finished so everything will be rad for when he decides to move down to Florida. (In around 5 years)
