hoping there will be some people old enough to hit the nightlife!

also, how does the housing work in terms of alcohol? Is it allowed? I like my wine :)

    hey

if your 21 or older when you arrive you will be placed in a non-wellness apartment (where you are allowed alcohol) you are allowed to have booze in there and drink as much as you want!! yay! :)

If your under 21 when you arrive you are placed in a wellness apartment where no alcohol is allowed, all of the other people in this apartment will also be under 21 but the apartment will be in a normal block and theres nothing on the outside of the apartment to say its a wellness but if any alcohol is ever found in a wellness apartment ALL housemates will be questioned and everyone can face termination for it,even if its nothing to do with you etc

security are permitted to come in and out of apartments at will and they will turn up if theres any sort of party/gathering etc and they generally ask everyone for ID etc

it is pretty strict but of course many under 21s drink and never get caught

i personally wouldnt have enjoyed it if i was under 21 - simply for the fact that if your under 21 you are always worrying about being caught with a drink, being found drunk etc (and im not a huge drinker at all,not trying to make myself sound like a total alchy!)

haha oh don't worry I don't think you are. I feel like by me asking this question makes me look like one though!

I was underage for 2 months when I went to college a couple years ago and it was crap having to stay in while all my friends went to the bars. Luckily that won't happen now.

Where are you guys/girls from? Are you going to work at Disney again?

What did you like most about it? What were your roommates like? Do you get a choice of having fewer roommates or do they just throw you in with a bunch of people?

you dont get any choice over where you live or how many people your going to be living with, you just get allocated a room and you find out when you arrive, you can request a move if you really dont like your room mates etc but you have to have been there for a certain amount of time and there is a charge for moving apartments etc - you have to be prepared to live with anyone really.

its a brilliant year if your happy to work hard, to live with loads of different people, to try new things etc - if your going to go over you need to understand that it is NOT going to be like living at home - it takes a little time to adjust and you have to be flexible and just go with the flow sometimes.i had a great year and would recommend it to anyone but it has to be said that its not for everyone and there are some people who get the job and go over and leave after a few weeks

take some time to read the posts on this forum and get as much info as you can before you apply :)

Well I've applied and been accepted to start Oct 19th. I've lived in a roommate situation in college, with up to 5 roommates. I feel like I'm pretty well-suited to this job, and living in the US isn't much different than Canada!

Just wanted to know more in terms of what you did in your downtime, and how well everyone meshed together in the housing complexes.

sorry, didnt realise you had alraedy applied etc - my bad!

on your days off most people tend to go out shopping, hit the pool or hire a car and go to the coast to the beaches etc

obviously you get free entry into the disney parks so youl spend sometime there or at the water parks

sometimes you may only get 1 day off a week when its very busy so if your anything like me you may find youl want to catch up on some sleep and just chill out in the housing complex!

    have a great time,good luck!! :)
