Hi, I did the IP 2002-2003, my husband has decided to go to music school in Clearwater, Fl. I would like to get a job in the US (I am Canadian) and am not sure whether I want to do the IP again or do something else. Does anybody know where I can find out info about any US companies hiring Canadians? Thanks!
I don't how how easy it is but you can go on a program for hospitality. I worked in Fort Lauderdale and my Front Desk Manager is canadian and that's how she started out. Before that she worked Attractions at Niagara Falls, not sure if she also worked in a hotel. She then spent the next year and a half with the Marriott in Fort Lauderdale and advanced to Duty Manager for the Front Desk. After that she got the job at our hotel and got another visa. Good luck! Cardi... Yeah I know, I haven't been posting on this page in a very long time!!! Merry Christmas to you, too! Hope you had a good one and got to spend it with the family. I enjoyed seeing all of my relatives and we had some good christmas dinners About the job...I wrote the recruitment manager an email and asked her about it. She said she had passed on my application ( to the FOM ), but that they put all hiring on hold over the busy holiday season and will get back to it when the stress is over. I have applied for some jobs in Australia now as well, since I don't want to sit around and wait for something that might not happen. I don't know, I hope it will all turn out for the best next year!
