Hi was just wondering if anyone could give any tips for the interview date? What type of questions will be asked - similar to the phone interview? How long is it until you know if you're successful or not?

Hey zoe!!! Welcome to the boards and congratulations on getting to the face to face interviews!!!

Myself and the other accepted/applying applicants will do anything we can to help you!!!

The actual interview day is amazing!!! You arrive at the disney offices for 8.30 and the presentation starts around nine. Its all about the programme - where you live/work what the jobs involve and so much other useful stuff!!! Once you see the presentation I promise youll want the job even more!!!

This lasts until about 11 when youll be told your interview time. these are usually in fifteen minute intervals and when i nitedviewed back in november they went from 11.15 until 6.15pm so be prepared to be there all day!!

The actual inteview itself is not as scary as you might think. Its one-on-one with one of the disney recruiters. I had a lady called Julie who was really nice. I think the interviews all tend to include the basic questions that were in the phone interview - why do you want the job etc but people also tend to get questions asked based on the application you have to fill in - yummy should send this out to you soon.

Be prepared to talk about our previous jobs and how they relate to the job at Disney and also about your hometown - what its famous for etc.

Just remember to smile and youll enjoy the interview!! Mine didnt seem like an interview at all - it was more like an informal chat - we ended up talking about Julies plans for her time in the UK and places we've travelled to!! Was really quite enjoyable!!

Of course youll be nervous but dont worry too much, just remember to SMILE and enjoy the day and youll be fine!!

    Good luck,
    Michelle xx

Forgot to answer your second question!!!

back in November we were interview on the 12th and at the interviews we were told we'd hear the result by december 10th.

We all got the dreaded 'yellow card' through telling us if we were being considered or not about a week or so after the interview. The calls with the leaving dates finally came though on december 7th - just before the deadline!!

We think that was cos there was a group leaving from the UK for the programe on the 7th and yummy had to get them sorted before they let us know the results of the interview!!

No probs Zoe - anything we can do to help!!!

I promise you that youre sure to go crazy waiting after your interview for the results!!! If youd seen the posts sara and i were doing while we waited youd have thought we were totally insane!! Thats def the worst bit - much worse than the interview itself!!

Luclkily sara and i both got in - im going in march and shes going in june so hopefully we'll meet you out in disney later this year!!!

Any more questions and we'd be happy to help!!

yeah michelle we went crazy, before the interview, after the interview, for weeks haha.

but yeah as michelle said we'll help u as much as poss, but i think as always she's just about covered everythin haha.

but yeah the situation could b the same with the whole hearing, as you get 4 weeks from the interview date *well we did* which would make all of yours end of march, again which will be after the march departures! and michelle will b on her way!

i will!!! I'll be off to Florida - yay!!!

Theres a group of us leaving march 15th and another group on the 29th (i think) so am not sure if youll have to wait until after both groups have left - i guess it depends on how busy Yummy are - making the offer calls takes a long time!!!

Good luck and i hope the wait is not too bad!! The worst bit will be when you receive the yellow cards in the post - you wont want to open them!!!

Yeah, anyone can read them just by 'popping' them open without actually opening them properly!! I hated the thought of other people seeing what it said before me!!!

I remember one day in our post was a bright yellow leaflet from norwich union or someone and it totally freaked me out!!!

I know what you mean sara- im so excited to be leaving soon but im also sad that you wont be there for another three months after that!!! Like you said though - we'll have a great nine months out there!!!

    Hi Zoe!
    welcome to the boards.
I think Sara and Michelle have more than covered most things the only thing i can think to add is that theres a quiz at beginning of presentation they give prizes for right answers on disney. I won a badge and wore it to interview! i think a lot of people who get thru are sure to answer. its just questions like how many parks are there? what countries they are in etc..?
Its a fun day nothing to worry about at all :)
    best of luck,

    Hi Michelle,

just wondering if you could tell us more about the application form- what sort of questions are on it, are they easy e.g. 'What GCSEs did you do' etc or is it more 'Please describe one time when you have worked as part of a team to meet an objective'. And, if you know, is it included when they assess your application/

    Cheers,

    Dan

the first one. it just adress contact info. schools you attended qualifications hobbies etc. also asks f&b or merch but you dont fill that bit out til you're at the int when you see the presentation! its easy! think it might ask for passport no too! nothing to worry about though!

Steph - I had to e mail Jason and i think he replied confirming he'd got my e mail. alexis is prob busy but def best to check!

I only did one application form the one for the interview. when i applied i was just told to e mail my cv and covering letter.

the one for the interview is really simple like Lindsey said its just qualifications, jobs etc... its really easy to fill in! They must take it into account as the american disney people take it with them. But they also make notes during the interview so those prob are most imp. Think a copy might be on this site somewhere of the application form.

    Good Luck!

    Hey Steph,

I emailed Alexis a few days ago to confirm I would be attending, I got a email back the following day it was just to say that they would be sending out more info mid feb to let us know what to take with us. Don't worry you will get a reply soon she may just be a bit busy.

    Steph,

I wouldn't worry too much about not hearing from Alexis. I sent her an email on Wednesday confirming my attendance and she didn't reply to me either.

I'll only start panicking when my application form doesn't arrive! :D
