Hey everyone, I was just wondering if there are any future lifeguards or anyone who was previously a lifeguard at Disney... out there? Just want some info, like whats the swim test like, is it hard? What are the hours like when working? Questions... questions.... Anyone that can shed any light i'd be grateful Fank you, Gemma
Hey, my name's Rhian, Im also going out on june 6th to be a lifeguard! i dont think the swim test is hard, i think you've just gotta swim 500m in around 8-10mins, and swim like 25m with a brick on ur chest or something, dont think its anything to worry about! I really wanna know what our hours are gonna be like and which park im gonna be in!
Hi, I only just came accross this site but Im leaving the UK june 6th to be a lifeguard....ive heard the swim test isnt that hard, just tread water for 2 minutes and collect a brick from the bottom of the pool, i think most lifeguard official training is given to you once you arrive. I should imagine everyone will be in the same position..... rock on June 6th! kireene
Hi Rhian and Ki, Wohoo thank god another two lifeguards. Where are you both flying from? I am going from Manchester at 12.35 ish... cannot wait now only 9 weeks on monday ;D I really wanna know what park were gonna be in aswell... I'm also thinking, will they supply sun lotion etc. when were working? Gem x
hey gem, i fly out on june 6th from london heathrow unfortunately but im sure well meet once we get there! cant believe its 9 weeks! cant wait! ;D I dunno how they calculate what parks we all get sent too, i assume well be in one of the water parks?? or do u know if we might be in the real parks?? when i say real i mean magic kingdom, epcot etc? Im not too sure about the sun lotion, id take some just to be safe and would think if theyre nice people they'd give us some!! that stuff can get really expensive! have you seen our uniform? is it the shorts and t shirts? do they give us 'disney' swim suits?? lol, how exciting! xxx
Hi girls, just wanted to let you know thats awesome you are lifeguarding at disney.....i didnt find out about it till recently, i would have applied. Iv been a lifeguard for 6 years, working at various wave pools, regular pools, Water parks, and Beaches...its an awesome job, dont worry about the swim test, it seems alot esier than what im used to here in Canada. Good Luck Girls Sheena
thanks sheena, thats really sweet are you out in disney already or going out soon? looking forward to the challenge to be honest! xx
I dunno how they calculate what parks we all get sent too, i assume well be in one of the water parks?? or do u know if we might be in the real parks?? when i say real i mean magic kingdom, epcot etc? in reply to your question Ki, you will be in the water parkas or in any of the disney hotel resorts... as far as i know u will not be in epcot, magic kingdom or MGM as they dont have water areas for people to be in... so no need for lifeguards.... hope this helps, charlie
