Well my parents are making me finish university first so I am waiting til 21 for crp and I am planning on working on getting volunteer and work experience in the mean time .... I was thinking of applying for f & b .... I'm not sure if thats actually the best idea on canadian pavillion or not but yeah ...back to the main point of my post I was wondering what sort of jobs would look good when I am applying for the past two summers I have worked at kings landing historial settlement which for those of you dont know it is basically a living museum set in the 1800's ... I am not sure if they mainly look for experience working around people like in my job or if they actually want food and retail experience any advice for me ????

I think it would definately help your application if you had a bit of F&B experience, even if it's just a bit of part time waitressing or bar work. But on the other hand they do train you anyway cos they like you to do it the Disney way! Also if you know lots about your countries culture and traditions that would be fantastic. I've been swotting up myself on a bit of history ready incase i get a phone interview, i feel like a right geek tho!!

I've never worked any food or beverage places ever.
I am working food and beverage in the Canadian Pavilion.

Doing lots of local work and "canadian" type things sure help.

I totally agree with Tracey, im going nuts already and i only applied 1st July!
I guess it helps if you're a patient person lol
Why don't you look into doing the college program on your summer break? I think it's only 3 months so you will get a taster of what it's like before committing yourself to a year.

Learn what you can about Canada and such. Even more so about your area and the area the interview will be in. Another good idea is while your working keep a little journal, even if it is just privet for you. And when you face a problem write it down. They will ask you questions about stuff like that and if you can remember from your own experience it is great to bring that up and say "This is what happend to me, and this is how I handled it." kind of thing. It is just a little something to help you. Also over the time write down some good questions you can ask the recrutors. I remember after the presentation sitting out with my friends being like "OMG what are you all asking... I need a question." Then when it came time to ask the question I had a really dumb one. Looked bad I think but I pulled it off ok. Guess they liked me enough.

But ya, F&B is the largest Canadian group. I am in that too as of December 2nd. There is so many of us. You may not get your first pick, so be prepared to be put in attractions or merchendice too. But I am sure any of them will be fun.

    Good luck though. :)

I asked my recruiter what it was like recruiting in Asia and Africa

Though I flubbed because as soon as she found out I was a newfie she said "ohhh my gosh!! tell me a joke!" because newfies are known to be very funny people. I am funny but was no way prepared for her to ask me that.

I told a joke but it was so not as funny as it could have been. It was just the best thing I could think of. I was so embarrassed afterwards but at least she laughed. haha
