I'm no where near close to applying as I don't go to university until next year but wanted to ask how the IP would work if I was to go to university in Canada (I'm from the UK). Would it still work the same way because Canada is still part of the International Program or would it make everything ten times more complicated? Have any of you done this? Obviously going to Canada for university may not even happen yet but this would influence my decision! Thanks in advance! :)

EDIT: Uh oh, could someone move this to the ICP section please? Sorry!

  2. Erm it may still work but it would be uber complicated as you would have to do it as a UK citizen. Also you would most likely have to have your interviews in the UK and your visa would be from the US Embassy in London.

As far as I know, the only major prerequisites are that you are a current college student and a citizen of one of the countries eligible for the ICP. The ICP interviews themselves could probably be conducted anywhere - particularly because they often take place during the school year so it's hard to expect people to fly back across the Atlantic when they'll essentially be asking the same questions. Even dealing with the visa may be alright to deal with as you could just go to the US Embassy in Canada. It's all something you'd want to double check with Yummy Jobs, but there are lots of students who go to school out of their home country, so I'm sure that it's not an uncommon situation.

Whatever may happen you do at least have the advantage of both countries using the same recruitment company. As *SHANANigans* said, I too would suggest you e-mail yummy jobs and ask them. Especially as they deal with both the UK and Canadian applications.

It's true, I completely forgot about that point! I really don't think you'll have a problem at all!
