OK, this is really far in advance, but I just thought of it this morning. It's going to be my parents' 25th anniversary while I'm over in Florida, and they'll come out to visit me at some point. Anyone got any ideas of what sort of suprise thing I could get/do for them?! Obviously this is like 8 months away, but my Grandparents are ALREADY thinking of stuff for them and I'd need their help, so hopefully I could enlist their help funds-wise. Anyway, was just one of those random thoughts I had earlier... Thanks for any ideas!
go to supper one night at the California Grille, at the Contemporary Resort. Ask for a window table. You'll have to find out when the fireworks are, but at night, they dim the lights in the restaurant, and you have a view over the castle of the fireworks. They even pipe in the music from the show...aparently! Oooo you should so so so get them a honeymoon room for the night at one of the hotels with your cast memer discount. What a laugh that'd be for them! Though you gotta get in there pretty early. Buy them a pair of mickey and minnie wedding head pieces. Insist they wear them. Everywhere.
Oh or a firework cruise! You can either go out and watch illuminations or watch Wishes out on one of the pontoon boats. This is fab!
I've definately heard great things about the California Grille - especially as a place to splurge a bit and treat yourself. I've been reading too many travel guides - ha, what can I say?
We had a beautiful evening in the Polynesian with their open plan restaraunt upstairs, they do definitely pipe the Wishes music in, and you can request a specific place near the window. We also went and sat on their beach there and just chilled out watching Wishes, they have hammocks that could be very romantic to cuddle in
When are they down then? Got any rough ideas? Might be some seasonal shows/parades/fireworks they could see as well
I'd've thought at the beginning of August (my Mum and sister don't break up until the middle- late July, mwahahaha), but then I also think that they're going off to the Carribean for a few days too. Or so my Dad wants to do anyway, so God knows if it'll actually happen . The restaurant ideas are all really good- that's definitely something they'd appreciate... Apart from that I could always try and find a nice room in a hotel for them for the night and stay with my sister in one of the cheap ones so she's not lonely Damn the no guests rule. A long time to think of final things yet though, but keep the ideas coming people
Yeah the really romantic resorts are the Polynesian and the other one on the side of the lake, can't remember it right now, lol, the white and red one, beautiful inside tho Character breakfast is also a good idea? Good fun and the food is always excellent
I guess u mean the Grand Floridian. But that is really expensive. I stayed a night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The rooms are a bit dark but u have this fab view to the savanna. I also did the boat ride during wishes and ate at the California Grill and had a window seat and could see the whole MK by night. I recommand all of it.
Yeah i guessed its not cheap, the Polynesian was about $200 for one night i think, with CM discount, but worth every penny Bet the AK lodge would be nice, i've not had the chance to try it out yet, over there in March so maybe then?
