Hi all! I just got accepted for the F&B position at the Norway Pavillion So I was just wondering if someone (preferably from the Norway Pavillion, but all comments are welcome ) could tell me about this position and how you like / dislike this position. And as a small side question: How heavy does "heavy lifting" means? I am used to working in restaurant here in Norway, but here we carry only three full gourmet plates (more if they are empty of course). I heard that you use large trays down at the EPCOT park ??? Thanks all
I worked at the Mexican pavillion also as F&B, the weight on the trail it depends, we use large trails, and u can fit max around 5 o 6 plates of a main course, so they can be heavy and drinks more cuz u have plenty of room so u try to fit everything, but it depends on u, if u dont want to fill all ur trail u dont have to... also if u are runners sometimes u split a order, it really depends on who are u working with... i enjoy my time there, im not sure how is the system for norway, so i hope someone can help u out with that! but im sure u will enjoy it ! =)
In the UK Pavilion the food runners just carry the plates...as many as they can...usually about 3. They only use trays for drinks, desserts and clearing tables when they'll stack em with all the rubbish.
Thanks for the replies so far I think i have been negative affected by the movies, where you see these huge plates which are way over filled with plates and glasses I hope someone from the Norway Pavillion will reply to this post, and give me some info on the F&B there Thanks yet again
the NOrwegian FnB are probably the hardest working. they gta be up around 6 or 7 for princess breakfast. Its tough for them coz they PARTY hardcore...... Enjoy happy mondays guys!
Finally some information about the Norwegian F&B Well the working hours is not a problem, usally wake up at 5am anyway
the Norwegians are hardcore, they are serious drinkers and are out partying all the time I worked UK F&B and i can tell you to expect it to be VERY busy (500 odd guests for dinner is not unusual) and it can get pretty stressful at times, you have to really know your menu and be able to answer any questions about it (ingredients of menu items, what drinks to have with each item etc) youl have a great time, especially on a Monday night after work (snickerboo & flickerboo - im sorry i know i have probably spelt those wrong!!!!)
on a monday night pretty much EVERYONE goes out, usually its the night the each nationality gets together and goes out ( for example the UK lasses and UK lads, the mexican girls and guys, etc) the Norwegians have 2 groups (males and females) and are called flickerboo and snickerboo (im not sure what the names mea,how to spell them or anything!)
Hmm... thats deffinetly not my style of spending my free time. I would rather go to the park, or go shopping, or maybe just sit in the sofa and have a Ben & Jerry's
