Okay, this might be a diffrerent question than the ones you usually see on this forum... I'd really like to do the summer program, but I'm really allergic to birch pollen and also the pollen of some other plants. I am aware that there are no birches in Florida, but I am worried about there being other plants I might be allergic to.

Has anyone with allergies done the program? Does someone happen to know what pollen reports and pollen count indexes usually look like during the summer in Orlando?

I found Florida did wonders for my allergies - to the extent I stopped taking medication for it while I was there. I don't know about the pollen indexes though - I did look at them once, but I didn't manage to discover how they related to UK ones.

I have SERIOUS hayfever when in England...it's such a pain in the arse....itchy throat, sore eyes, constant sneezing...

I went over in the height of British Hayfever season, and didn't so much as rub my eye when I got over there!! it was like the worlds best miracle cure!! I think doctors should prescribe permanent US residency to British people who spend their entire summer stuck indoors using up all the loo roll and benadryl in the nation!!! that's the best solution to overcoming hayfever...perhaps I'll suggest it to the Prime Minister! :D

And I realise you weren't specifically talking about hayfever....but I don't know of anyone who suffered especially bad from anything similar whilst there!

That's the best idea I've heard in a long time!
