Hi everyone. I am 26 this year and want to apply next year as I need a change. Am I too old to do this? I love my holidays to Disney and have a friend doing the International Program. If I am not too old what do think the chances are of getting to work on Disney Cruise Line after my year? I am currently a civil servent but have experience of retail, bar and hotel work.

Thanks for your help and views.

    hey pete

i'm sure you're the ideal candidate to work in the year program or on the cruise ship. the cruises are handled by a different company and can lead to permanent employment (i think im correct on that) as it is british run. after the year out u can definately apply to the cruise line so the opportunity is there for the cruise whatever option you do.

i think you should definately apply for the year program, its definately worth sending your cv and details to yummy jobs.

Thanks for all the messages of encouragement ;D I have decided I am going to go for it and apply later on this year as I wont be able to leave untill Feb next year. The past few days I have arranged to pay my loan off by Dec instead of Nov06 so once that is done I am free. I have been looking a the Cruise Line too and this looks like the thing I would like to move into after a year at WDW.

    Thanks Everyone

aww good for you pete, i would definately get your cv off asap then, as the process is very long winded, well it can be.

for example i applied almost this time next year. U first apply sending your cv, then if successful get a phone interview, first process was beginning of april then phone interview in may, then i got the news i was to attend the face to face interviews taking place in november.

there are 2 interview times every year. february interviews are for positions in september-dec of that year, and november interviews are for march-june following.

so if you're looking to go out early 2006, its about time to send the cvs off, i know a few people looking to head out then have been told 2 send them soon, so might be worth sendin as soon as you can

any other questions u have feel free to contact any of us

Like the guys said Pete - you should def think about sending your CV in soon. People are being asked to start sending in their CVs for the interviews at the end of this year which are for positions startinh next mar-june!!

You never know - you might be able to replace me out there next March!!!

    Hi Pete

I found that the average age out there was around 23-26 in 2002.  (taking into account all the different nationalities in the Commons) I know 2002 seems ages ago so maybe a more recent alumni could give you a more recent figure!
Age generally isn't an issue - but you will find that some people over 21 have a circle of 'going out' friends as there are some bars/clubs that under 21's are refused admittance.

if you're looking fo a change, the IP is definately that!

Thanks guys everyday I am more sure this is what I want to do. I have to finish off my CV. When that is done do I just email it to Jason at Yummy? I have an email from him last year when I asked for info on IP. At the time I was just enquiring but now I want to get my CV in. Do they ask you when you can start?
