Acting and stuff in Orlando

I'm an actress, I'll leave my theatrical company for working in WDW (Don't worry, I wouldn't keep on working with that company anyway 'cause it will never become important or famous) but I don't want to stop acting for a whole year! I think I'll try to make some short film with my videocamera and my laptop but I'd like to attend an acting course or maybe just some seminaries there in Orlando, do you know if there is a thater school or something similar near WDW?

just a heads up... it says in the wdw policies that you can't take any other jobs in the us, while working on the international program would love 2 help you with the thater school thing, but i don't know anything about it.

 

Taking acting classes like that won't be a problem. Working and getting paid would be a problem. But I don't think that is what she wants to do, is it?

 

since she talked about making a shortfilm with her videocamera, she could have been thinking about sending it in as an application to a commercial, film, or something like that. many people do that to get auditions, you know..

 

Hey, I did't say anything about working, I just asked if someone knows if there is any acting school in Orlando near WDW 'cause I don't want to stop acting for a whole year. It doesn't mean I want to act as a job in Orlando, I know I can't have another job while I work at WDW and I'm not looking for it.
I'm a filmmaker so I'll bring my videocamera and I'll try to make some short movie but that's not a job, how could it be a job?

just wanted to help. i didn't know that you were a filmmaker. didn't say anything about that in your post.

No way! I'm an actor too!! And I was thinking of making short films as well!! (I bet ppl hu are non actors are thinking, what are these guys talking about?!) I'm not going to stop acting either. We HAVE to do some films!!

When is it you arrive is Disney?

O ye, theres a thing called 'The New York Film Academy' and one of their schools is at Disney. Theres on in LA, New York, London, Florida and other places in Europe. They do all kinds of TV and FIlm courses - Acting, directing, camera stuff etc etc. But its a bit pricey! i looked into doing a years acting course in LA, and it would cost $18,000!! plus accomadation etc. But there is a theatre company so I'm led to belive at Disney. If not, there is definately goign to be some form of company in Orlando.

I also love film/acting!  And would love to meet up with u and keep in contact clara!  I'll be there starting this dec.  I studied film in university, but didnt finish with it, because I love the acting/story/directing part of it I think more than the technical part.  See I'm creative...I'm a pisces, haha    And studying the horizontal/vertical lines, and who has the 'power' in a scene because of where they are in the scene, etc...I dunno...it was interesting, but I think it took the fun out of film for me...There was no hands on experience and such...Although, studying Hitchcock was interesting!  lol

 

wow... ok this is awesome... i'm a stage manager, and I agree that it's gonna be so difficult to let it go for a year. I arrrive sept. 6th, and yeah we all need to get together...

hey all :0 i just graduated in arts and technologies, i did lots of art videos and love it !! i wanted to make more videos in florida but dont know if ill have a camera :| does anybody got one? i work a lot with sony digital hi- 8 but do not own one . anyway i also try to bring a laptop there , and have premiere pro on it , anyway if you want to see some of my works just ask and ill try to send some
