Hello everyone!!! a friend of mine is also applying for the Disney Program, but he was asking me if once you are working for Disney, could you be absent for a weekend, etc?... He told me he has a cousin´s weeding one month, and on another he has his sister gratuation :-\ ,,,so do you know if Disney let´s you go for some days? or could you work extra hours before, so you can be absent??? thank you all for your answers... ;D I also have a weeding in September, and I´ll be there since July, so I´m really hoping I could go also to my invitation....cheers to all ;D

I've heard that you can book a maximum of 2 days a week off work.
However, it is possible to book off 4 days in a row, but in order to do this the first two days will have to be at the end of a week with the other two being at the beginning of the other i.e. you'd have to have off Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

If the wedding is on a Saturday that should be pleanty of travel and recovery time, but at the same time Disney might lot allow it so who knows, best to ask early.

It really depends on where you work and how nice your schedulers are.

I worked in Adventureland and when we got a new scheduler he denied all college program requests.

The easiest way is to book it off as soon as you know how to do it, that way, you're more likely to get the days off.

This is true, you can book two days at the end of one week, and then two days at the beginning of the next week to get four days off in total. Also, depending where you work, you can ask for ADO's (Authorised Days Off) which can be any day of the week. They only usually allow you to do this on the CRP program though.

If all else fails...either switch shifts or give shifts away (depending on the time of year this shouldn't be a problem...I wanted to give away a Boxing Day shift and someone snapped it up because they wanted to work 16 days in a row ::) crazy people) or as a last resort...call in sick/personal. If you end up going you'll work out how to do that without getting fired! But hopefully it shouldn't come to that!

i think it is. I think for disney if you don't work you don't get paid. there's no annual leave that we get on the program.

There is paid leave- I think its a total of 10 days- 2 weeks- certainly for Disney employees. You also end up getting a few days as- i cant remember what they call it but its like time off in lieu for working major holidays! I think that's about 1 every 3 months or so. If you don't use your paid vacation time you get it on your relocation cheque at the end of your contract!
