Hi when i worked there for the ICP, there were males with tatoos on their arms etc and they wore long sleeve shirts. if they are really small maybe your watch could cover them? hope this helps.

    Hey,

Yeah it depends where the tatoos are. If there on your back and top arms then thats fine, and i know of people that have worked there with tatoos on their wrists and just covered it up, like Heather said with a watch. However when i ha dmy interview for the crp there was a really nice girl there who had a small tatoo on her wrist and the interviewer for Disney wouldnt interview her because of it, even tho she had been excepted the year before but couldnt go.

I went in to Rodger just after that girl got turned away and he said it was because she wouldn't be able to hide it with make up in F&B due to hygeine and then even in merch because there was a possibility of the make up ruining the merchandise. Maybe guys can wear watches to cover it? But Rodger was pretty adamant that if it was at all visible she couldn't be employed (or even interviewed).

I imagine the issue here is that yes, Disney will not allow you to work if you can't cover up a tattoo. In the case of food and beverage, I imagine it's a hygiene issue with wearing the latex gloves etc.

Other than that, my guess would be that her tattoo was too high up her arm for a watch to cover it. In any case, it would have to be covered by your costume, so I dunno!

Either way, it's not something I know all that much about-it's a case by case thing I guess!

I've been considering a tattoo for a while I want it to be on the top of my neck but right below my hair line. I have SUPER long hair and It would cover it. But before I went to get it done I emailed Kristen and this was the response I had.

    "Greetings Tracey,

Many thanks for emailing before you got your tattoo done! As per the Disney look guidelines, cast members are unable to have any tattoos showing. While your hair may cover your tattoo, we have had many people accidentally put up their hair and not realize their tattoo was showing, which will cause write ups and even terminations. Due to this is advised you do not get a tattoo until after your program is complete.

If there is anything further I am able to assist with, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Have a Great Day,

    Kristen

i have a huge tattoo that covers my entire foot and i just wear ladies slip ons for work, i cover it with a couple of big bandaids, its the same with people that have them on their wrist, just use a bandaid. as for someone gettin turned away, thats ridiculous, theres dozens of people that go to the interview that arent the disney look, my mate for example...he had hair to his shoulders when he went to the interview, didnt cut it till just before he came out here!

see my friend has a tattoo and wprks in food and beverage...
what i dont understand is how he works there and gets away with it while others dont even get interviewed?
he has a tattoo on his arm so its very visible, i believe he uses make up to cover it up. do you think its ok?

    heya!
i leave for disney very soon and i have a tattoo on my wrist.when i had my phone interview i was told that i couldnt work at disney because of my tattoo.however i have been having it removed by laser treatment and its now very very faint and just looks like freckles.depending on how many of the tattoos there are and colours, you could have it removed but its not soo cheap!
If working at disney is something you would have given anything for like me, then on your phone interview just make it clear that you intend to have it removed (if thats true) and there shouldnt be a problem.

I think the girl that was turned away was because it was at the very top of her wrist, almost on her hand, it probably would have been more difficult to conceal, I guess it depends on how strict the interviewer is and the manager at the work place. When I worked for Haven no visible tattoos, whether they were covered or not, were allowed, yet where I work now are fine with tattoos as long as they're covered by a plaster or make up. It's a bit unsightly to have a plaster in the middle of your neck/wrist/arm though, and I definitely wouldn't buy anything from a person with a plaster close to their wrist as they're a breeding ground for germs, whether they're concealing a cut or not.

I wanted one there too and then got freaked out by the whole, veins and tendons thing round there and opted for the bottom of my back instead! Glad I didn't now also if it stopped me working for Disney!

i have one on my wrist too (on the inside , a lezard) and now i'm worried they won't keep me because of that. I told them at the interview but it's true that i did cover it up with make up at that time.
But that make up is expensive and hard to put on....and as i'll be working around food i think i'm not allowed to put on make up or plaster.
In the French Bakery the costume won't cover it up.

I'm gonna try to find a watch that could cover a bit and put a plaster too...

    i guess we'll see...(but i'm really worried)

yeah im not sure if make up goes with the rules of health and safety, but i guess you can only try... i guess if they think youve been hinest from the beginning they will be ok...

as long as you can cover the tatoos with the costumer they give you your cleared.

  18. If its on your wrist then you can wear a thick watch to cover it. Thats what my friend did and she was fine.

i think make up should be ok ive just asked my mate and he says thats how he does it... depends on management i guess!

  20. I have 5 tattoos and I was fine, I did have to wear a white t-shirt under my costume shirt though, because the material on the UK costumes is very see through. But as long as your tattoos are covered then you are fine. A guy I know that worked in Merch had tattoos on each wrist and he would always either wear plasters or make up to cover it. One of the girls who was there when I arrived had about 12 tattoos, she just kept getting new ones out there and she would cover them up with make up.
