Hey all. This is to the alumni that worked at the Canadian pavillion. I was wondering what the situation is for socks there. Are you allowed to wear regular socks with your boots, or are you given those huge thick wool socks so that they go with the costume?

Thanks for any info that you can provide

Hey robyn, i am not alum, but i think that they are gonn agive us that part of our costume, i am gonna cut the sock so that i can just have from the ankle up and then that part will come out of your shoe a little, that way you aren't in thick wool socks all day and you wont be stuck with the same ones all the time

    Hey Robyn

You just wear regular black socks, they have to be showing out the top of your boots but that's about it.

I remember putting my leather roots boots in the dryer more than once!!!!! So gross smelling. I wouldn't suggest not wearing socks in your boots...it'll just make the smell worse because your feet sweat sooooo much. You can wear whatever socks you want, so just find ones that aren't really think...although they will keep your sweaty feet a lot dryer! Just pack a couple pairs to take with you for your first few days and you can always buy more when you get there.

TIP: During the rainy season, keep another pair of socks in your bag in case your feet get soaked!!! Even if your boots are soaked, it can help to have dry socks. They aren't to keen on you not wearing socks (although we did a lot when we got soaked)...and if like me, you have a tattoo on your ankle, you're screwed!

Sheridan - when I got here I was in merch/attractions, but a few weeks ago they split up the two, so I chose an attraction line. We were trained in merchandise and they still seem to be able to get us to do merch shifts if they're short staffed, but otherwise we're just in the theatre or doing kidcot. Lots of fun, plus we get to be in the air conditioning all summer!!

In the hole ALL the time?!?!? Are you nuts? Did you really pick it, or get stuck with it?? I would have gone insane. Oh well, to each her own I guess!

    nikki-

Shan - yup, sure did pick the cave, haha. But it came with kidcot, and there's always a greeter, so it's good.

Nikki - you'll be one or the other, won't know until you get here. I'm not sure how they're gonna determine how you guys pick or if you do, there will be a lot more merch lines opening up than attraction lines

You'll most likely get placed in the line of someone that is leaving in the next couple of weeks and will have to stay there until the next picks. You don't get your choice of days off or area until a line pick comes up...until then you get stuck with whatever is opening up...which isn't always that bad depending on the seniority that the people that are leaving had when the picks were done last.

Christa...I loved Kidcot and having a greeter would definitely make the attraction a lot better. You come up with loads of games to kill time...I remember doing cartwheels through the preshow area one day when there were only two of us there...or napping in the podium.

    Hey again ;D

Christa- That's pretty cool =) I think I would like doing the attractions better as well, but I guess I'll see when I get there! Who knows, huh? I may end up liking the other end of it better! See, living where I do, we have a lot of stuffy humid hot weather (when we do get the hot weather..lol) so I tend to like the cooler weather better anyway! But I know in FL the heat won't be as bad at all! I'm sure I will love it! LOL
