Sorry, this is where my insane forward planner kicks in, questions that I shouldn't really need to know the answer to this early, but I'd like to know.

    1. As I will be applying for summer 2009, the applications start going in in July 2008 however I won't start university (hoping all goes well in the summer) until Spetember/October. Should I send in my application before I have confirmation of my uni place in July, When I have my confirmation after results day (mid august) or until I've started in October? (or is this far too late?) I was thinking of sending it off after I have my place confirmed definately by my uni but do I just write on my CV/cover letter saying that I start in October?

    2. This one may be easier. if I take up a Merch position (if all goes well) can I partake in the CM pin trading? I've been pin trading for a couple of years now and would really like to partake in this program.

    3. Where and when are the usual locations/dates for the interviews? My parents live in London and I will be living with them until October when I move to Portsmouth or Brighton to start uni (depending on who lets me in!). I wouldn't mind having to come to London but that means theres a chance of missing a days lectures, which I don't want to do.

    Thanks,

    from an obbsessive thinker/worrier/planner ;D

i'm assuming your on about icp, its best to wait until september to send your cv in, then if your successful youll know by christmas, i think in july yummy would say just reapply in september. you only really to send a cv for the summer, im not sure when it comes to the year long program.

i cant really help on the pin trading thing, i know there are certain pin events just for cast, like a sale of pins based just for cast.

the interviews are all around the country, liverpool and london to name a few, they usually happen during term time but its worth the chance and missing a days lectures

Heya I applied quite late, at the end of October and got the interview quite quickly in late November! It says in my college handbook that they accept applications until December 30th! So you will have plenty of time if it is the same situation next year! Id check during the summer though just to make sure! I had my interview in London (I know other people who had theirs in liverpool and aberdeen but there are probably other locations) but I'd definatly go the to London interview if you are offered it cause the offices there are BRILLIANT! Your uni will exempt you from lectures that day if you tell them you are going for a work interview, its general practice (in Ireland at least). The only thing about applying before you start uni is that in the ICP your college has to fill out forms on your behalf! Good Luck with it :)

hi, as kevus said you can wait until september. (they are still taking CVs for this summer! a second round of interviews wil ltake place in march) I applied in Setember and it was fine!

In my first program i was in merchandise and in my second program i did Operations and on both programs i was issued a pin lanyard and 12 pins to trade with guests. It was part of my costume, so i had to wear it at all times. You won't be able to wear your personal lanyard, however you can put your own pins on if you wish but you are only meant to hve 12 on your lanyard. Most people DONT trade their own pins, because as a CM you HAVE to trade if a guest wants one of your pins. If you do trade your own pins make sure its ones you want to get rid of or isn't special to you, cos the 'pin sharks' will get the good ones!

You can usse your own pins on your days off to trade with cast members, and there are some pin events somewhere but i was never into the trading thing. I know at downtown disney there is a big pin trading station.

You will probably have your interview in early november and locations vary. I'm not sure i have ever heard of them going to portsmouth or brighton. Usual liverpool, birmingham and london and other places

You have just made me a very happy girl. I know the whole pin trading rules as I only have experience of trading with CMs and my sister. I don't trade with other people generally as I don't have the chance as I usually trade whilst going round parks and have never attended a pin trading evening.

Knowing that if I do get to take part in the ICP program and travel to Disneyland after, I'm gonna need a hell of a lot of pins! Thank the lord for the grab bags of official disney pins off ebay. I will never trade bad quality or fake pins and gladly, am not a pin shark. I have have only ever payed for my good ones (would explain why I only have 2 LE pins)

    Thanks for the help everyone

"to take part in the ICP program and travel to Disneyland "

I'm sure you know, but just to make sure, it is Disney World in Florida, not Disneyland in Cali
Is pin trading really fun/ popular? I've never even heard of it!

Yeah I know, I think you read it wrong.

I mean travelling from Florida to Califorinia afterwards.

I like pin trading and theres lots of people who do it. It's fun and it gets you talking to CMs and people that you would not have been talking to before. Mind you, if you realllllly get into it, it can be an expensive hobby.

Also, would the second week of october be far too late to apply, since that will be the week after freshers week, and I will be sure about all the uni business?
