    Hey guys ;D,

Im doing the CRP program on December the 2nd, and was wondering if you can get the chance to see the rest of America, such as take a short trip to NYC or Vegas? Im sure its down to having the company and the money too, but Id love to do something like that and a bit unsure wheather its a case of saying it will happen but turns out you soo busy that you never get the chance.

Ive done the Colleg program before so I know that if you proba rely on your wages you wont get the chance? But please corretc me if im wrong, Plus id love to hear little adventures any post crp have had.

    Thanx
    :D

Well its something I certainly intend on doing if I am succesful. Im saving like crazy now and will try and save whilst im on the course to allow me to visit some of the east coast (NYC, Washington, Niagara, rest of Florida etc...) during breaks in the year and then to tour the west coast - LA, Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego... in the 30 days after the programme has finished. Obviously it would be great to find someone to come with me but I won't want to miss out on visiting these places even if i have to go solo.

Yeah thats exactly what i want to do....Except i fiunish my program at the end of Nov so it will be quite cold on the west coast by then...oh well...It will b an amazing experience.

When do you find out if youve made it? Its a nasty experience waiting for that call, but im sure you'll be fine!

Im trying to save too however seem to be failing miserably....

    :)

I plan to do exactly the same thing! Flights are relatively cheap to NY and Washington etc. so am definitely gonna do overnights to these places and do a little sightseeing and catch a show! I do plan on having quite a bit of money available though to do this. I wanna maybe do a drive across America during the 30 days... not sure how feasible it is but I'd love to see LA, Vegas and Alaska and whatever in between! My Dad said if I can't find anyone else to go with he'll come and do the 30 days travelling with me and do the driving.

The way I see it, if I get two days off together and am not too tired i'll be on a plane somewhere!

Wow thats amazing! I wish my dad would opt to do that, infact I wish i was going the same date as you as i know id have someone whos deffiantely up for the travelling part.

Im planning on taking money with me for that i just hope i dont get carried away with all the cheap clothes( compared to american prices). Im going to buy a annual pass for universal when i get there so i wont have to spend $60 a time...

I'm going to try and have a set amount aside for shopping and a set amount aside for travelling... I know it works in theory and reality is totally different, especially when confronted with cut price Disney merchandise! But that way I hope to still be able to travel and spend money on clothes!

I really hope to find other people to travel with (no offence to my dad, it'll just be a completely different trip with him rather than people my own age) but as I can't drive, i'd need to find people willing to do the driving! If not then it'll be me and my dad cruising down route 66 lol!

Dude, I would be up for that no questions asked! Especially the whole west coast tour! I realized the other day we could potentially be living in the US when they have their first ever black president. We could be living in a huge moment in history! So a day out in Washington to see (if he wins of course!) Obama's inauguration!

xsamx, I am arriving December 2nd too. LOL. I had to point that out. I get excited every time I see someone arriving that date. Not sure if I know you yet but, ya... excitement. :)

Ok back on topic. LOL. As far as my knowledge I could not tell you more then the others have said. I had earlier planned on finding some people who would want to go to Vegas at the end, but I am debating that now as a friend of mine (who isnt doing the program) wants to go to Russia with me when I get back, so I wont have the money to do both. But ya like others have said, you get up to 30 days after your Visa to remain in the country so you can travel. And depends where your from as to how cold the west coast is I think. I would not find it too cold at that time of year cause we get colder. Vegas is pretty warm anyway. We went this past February Left in a show storm and arrived in a desert. Man was it HOT. But I think California... except the north end stays ok year round. Again that depends on what your used to. We might find it cold after staying in Florida for the year. LOL. :)

Elle you will deffinately have someone to travel with. There are loads of us wanting to do the same thing, plus a lot of you going in Sept. So if anything you will be spoilt for choice. I would obviously prefer to go with friends other than my dad, but atleast its good to know what matter what your deff be going!

Nykki, Russia...thats amazing....Be really really cold tho if you went in Nove/dec..Get your thermals ready. I really want to go to Russia its beautiful, but i want to see Canada and USA more...Desperate. I feel that this is such a good opportunity to get it out of my system to see America (I hope fingers crossed). Yeah were firneds on facebook..I bet you have accepted so many prroplr its hard to keep up!

LOL. Yes, atleast I am ready for the cold. Not sure if we will be going in winter. I prefer so as I am very much a winter person. (I am only moving to Florida cause that is where Disney World is. LOL. Not for the heat.) But yes it is a wonderful chance. Seeing as you will be over here, why not. :) That is how I see it too. It would almost be crazy not to.

LOL. It is. I should actually go and count everyone on facebook who is going the same day as me. I might feel better about our numbers. :) (Though what I cant wait for more is the people going AFTER us. I hate being last.) LOL.

Dunno bout that, getting somewhere, making it worth while and gettin back in 2 days might be a bit difficult. I shall be requesting back to backs (sat/sun/mon/tue) for that. Usual days off are good for seeing florida - the parks, the beaches, maybe miami and the keys. I would also like to spend at least one night in each resorts if i get the chance.

I also want to try out the resorts, with that discount its hard to resist. Especially the deluxe ones that I wouldn't be able to afford otherwise! I might try and arrange a trip to New York in February time too.

Yeah my mum mentioned I should do that but didnt think id have enough time. I cant imagine it would take long to learn becasue they all drive automatics, plus they take their driving test in car parks.
Im gonna look into it! Not sure if I could afford a car tho..unless it was like 400 dollors ...a heap hehe

I know it's sort of off topic but as it's travel related i'll throw it in here anyway.... Can you learn to drive from scratch out there? Not just retake your test? I know it'll take a long time but it's so much cheaper to learn to drive out there and I only want to learn in an automatic anyway and get road confident and then come back home and retake my test here?

As for the 2 day thing, I definitely think it's adequate for New York and Washington trips, I know New York well and only plan to go and watch shows rather than full on sight seeing trips so two days should be more than fine. Especially if it's on a day with a matinee and I can get two shows done in a day! The flight is only 3 hours and not too expensive.
