Idont think i have heard of anyone else, we should meet up before we go, get to know each other. Then we wont be too scared when we go cause i know i am massively excited now, but come the begining of September i am gunna be so scared. xx

There's another girl on here and FB called Julia who is the same day, she's Scottish I think. So that makes 4 of us!!

I'm freaking out with all the documents coming through and everything, there seems like so much to do and I don't know where to start :S We don't go til Spet obv so i guess we have time to sort things out but it just seems like there's so much to do!!

I'm sure I've asked before, but are you guys going to go out a couple of days earlier than the 6th? I want to so that I can get over jetlag etc, if you are we def need to co-ordinate flights and whatnot. I think if we book through STA they'll do that for us anyway. Hehe, exciting!

I have already done my CRB form, did that on the nioht we got it and then posted it yesterday, First class recorded delivery., I just thought i would prefer to get everything down as and when it comes in so i am not running behind with any forms or forget to do any forms.

I m defo going out a couple of days before, i want to make sure i am settled in properly. I may even poss go out 3 or 4 days before. All depends when I can get into the flat. STA seem like a good idea though.

We will have to arrange somewhere in the middle for us all to meet up and have a disney day, defo somewhere where there is a disney store, cause i dont have one where i live.

I'm very impressed you've done your CRB already, i haven't a chance yet as we're moving house tomorrow so it's all a bit manic! Do we have to send documents at all or do the ones we took to interview count? (I should probably read the info we got sent, I'm sure it's in there!) It's all very exciting but I can't help being a little stressed!! xx

 

I just wanted to get mine done!!!! I hate leaving things so i found an hour to do it. Make sure you leave yourself enough time and be careful with it, your not really allowed to make mistake on it.

You will need to send a photocopy of your passport and birth certificate. It also say to send a copy of your driving license if you dont have something else but rioght now i cant remember what so to be on the safe side i just put it all in the envelope, what they dont want they can throw away. Also you have to put a copy of the receipt if you pay via pay pal, a lot easier and you can do it within 2 seconds.

Disney Day sounds like it is going to be the best day in the next 312 days, well 310 if we go a few days before. This is going to really quickly, before we know it it will be in the 200's, amazing!!!

HA i feel so slow and behind.. ive been working so much lately i havent got on here!OMG what am idoing with my life lol ..

I got my documents through.. done my photocopies i just need to send it back to them.. i want to get everything done asap as well so that i know its done n dusted.. as if we have 312 days to go .. omw i wish it would come a lot quicker.. longest wait of my life lol ....

if you guys are flying out earlier then i certainly will... so we can stick around or a few days before we start etc suppose yummy will sort that out with us etc though..

canny wait now.. I havent seen anyone else but then we are late comapred to everyone else so once all tese january applicants hear back there will prob be loads of us in september arrival!

Hi girls! Not bn able to get on for the last couple of weeks, its driving me mad not knowing what's going on. I've not done my criminal check yet either, need to sit down tonight and do it before it goes walkabout in this house!! I'm deff thinking that going a couple of days before is a good idea, what is STA that a couple of you mentioned?

A meet up before we go would be awesome...least we have plenty of time to organise one lol!! I work in the disney store in glasgow, this christmas we're gettin a brand spankin new store- has a theatre in it, lots of singing/dancing n story telling with the kiddiewinkels! Not sure where the other 1 like it in the UK is but would deff get everyone in the spirit of things if we met up to go to one of those!

How much spending money are you guys aiming to take?

Oohh just had a thought, we will have to travel to london for our visa so would be perfect to meet up then and do that together n have our disney day!? Xxx

Iam so jealous, i have to drive at least 45 minutes to get to my closest disney store. Its horrible, but actually good for my bank account otherwise i would spend all my money in there.

The only problem with having our disney day on the day we do our VISA is that there is a very big chance you could spend all day in the american embassy, not only that but you are not allowed to take anything in with you, no bags, phones, cards, etc the only things youn are able to take are any documentation you need a small piece of change to make a call when you finish. You could be there 5 minutes or 5 hours.


Your disney store Julia sounds amazing, i have never seen one like that, the biggest i have seen is New York and that was amazing. lol it was on like 4 levels!!!!

I am going to try and save enough to take about $70 spending money. For Xmas and My Bday i am asking for money and ollars and not much else!!! That way i dont have to save as much.

Hey guys! How's it all going? I haven't been able to post on here as just moved house and had no internet!

Still haven't been able to send my CRB - have paid etc but am waiting for my driving licence with my new address to come through. Getting a bit concerned even though Nick said it was fine - just want to get it sent off!! I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with all the things there is to do - the thread on here about tax freaked me out, hadn't even thought about that! And Student Loans Company too, apparently we have to tell them :S

I guess yummy will sort us out, we have a while to get organised anyway!!

Would def be good to get a hotel for a couple of days before we start, feel like I should be looking at flights but I think they won't all be released for a while since it's a while away. Less than 10 months to go now though, eeeeeeee!

And WOW on your Disney Store Julia, a theatre in it?! Wow!!! Sure beats the Southamptn store which is my closest one, it's rubbish!! I'm working in Brighton at the mo and it isn't great there either, I want to live in Glasgow!!

Hellooo I'm the same amelia have a serious lack of internet in my life these days! Just managed to get my CRB sent away today but guess they'll b prioritising the feb/march leavers first! Yeah the new store opens next week, had training for it on monday coz ill b based in the theatre doing events and I am absolutely terrified lol! have any of you looked at flight prices just out of interest? A girl I work with did the CRP a couple of years ago and said you need $1000 min as u r left with somethin like $14 on ur first pay check coz of different costs, she said if u r in merch (like me) to try and have $2000 if u want to be able to buy nice things!! Eeeek! I have a negative amount of money right now so rlly need to get in amongst some serious saving.
Are there any other harry potter freaks in our leaving group? I think one of the first things I buy will b an annual pass for universal to make the most of hogwarts etc ! Hope you are all good x

The first thing i want to say is 299 days!!!!!!! He he i love saying that so much more than 300 odd days to go...

I am going to start looking at flights this weekend as i think the earlier i book it the better price it will be, I wanted to talk to you guys first though and get an idea of when you are looking to go out and also where you are going to travel from, I am thinking to go out about the 2nd/3rd September gives me then a couple of days before to get out there and get over any jet lag and do some shopping. I am flying from Gatwick, and will try and go with BA or Virgin, but to be honest will go with whoever the best price is.

I had a thought to make things easier as meelie and Julia are finding it difficult to get online at the mo, i have emailed you all on here my mobile number if you wanna text or anything, just make it easier.

And yes so I'll be flying from Gatwick too I think, defo think Virgin or BA but as you say whatever's cheapest will have to do. I was thinking of going out on the 3rd, i think my budget will only stretch to 3 nights in a hotel!! I think we should maybe go for somewhere in International Drive since it's the most inexpensive place!

Also good idea on the mobile number front, I'll do the same in a sec.


I'm panicked by the amount of money we need, I'm also in negative money right now like you Julia and I have a credit card bill to pay before I go too! :S I want to have money to be able to go out and eat and drink etc when I'm there but it isn't looking good! I keep meaning to set up a new bank account as my Disney fund but haven't got round to it yet, that's my plan for when I finish at work on Sunday. Been working 18 hr days recently so haven't had much chance to do anything!!

Thank you for the Number. I am doing a load of saving at the moment and also looking at selling my car closer to the time to get some money together. I so want to enjoy this experience to the full so dont want to go out there and not be able to enjoy it with no money!! I have opened a seperate account already, have a money box in my bedroom(disney of course) that i can not physically get into until i use a tin opener!!!! Everytime i go to the shop, i look at what im buying and think this or disney merchandise and believe me its a big incentive to not buy anything. For christmas- just ask for dollars to go towards spending money and also if people want to actually buy you presents, make sure they are all to do with disney, so i have asked for suitcase set, hand luggage, bed sheets, etc. that will save me some money next year, as i wont need to buy it. Also asking for the same thing for my Birthday as i have one before we go. What do u work as Meelie, the 18 hour days will be getting you ready for Florida, i miss my long days, used to do them a lot when i was an assisstant manager at a hotel, but now have an office job, so i will need to get my body used to doing the hands on work again!!! Gunna try and do overtime at work in the restaurant and bar.

We are only doing a seperate thead so we can get to know each other, we may be sittingon a plane for 9 hours together so better we know each other now. Planning to go a few days earlier is definently a good idea for you all! Jetlegg as mentioned will be a pain if they come in the day before or something as the first few days are all early mornings and if your on jetleg, itcane be interesting to say the least. Also if there is any flight issues you have a few days to work with. Not that Disney holds it against you really but it puts you behind if your delayed a day or 2. Also you can get your first taste of Florida heat and the daily rain! If I get highered ill be there between Sept-December 2011. Cant wait
