3 Weeks Today!

Hey fellow cast members!

I've been looking at this site as a guest for about a month now but i've only just managed to register lol. My name's Liz Heal. I'll be leaving for Disney on 31st May from Manchester airport. I'll be working as a food and beverage hostess. I'm very lucky as three of my close friends are coming with me. Their names are Cat, Diane and Medi and we are all in our third year at Leeds Met University. Anyway just thought it would be great to know as many people as possible before we get there. We are just doing the three month summer programme and i'm sure when it gets to the end of August we won't want to leave. I see a lot of people have been mentioning 21st birthdays. Well i'm 20 but turn 21 on June 25th i'm a bit of a party animal and intend to live it large i can't wait.

Anyway it would be great to hear from people who will be out there whilst we are. Especially if there is anyone leaving on May 31st from Manchester, we could all meet in the airport? Well happy packing (i haven't even thought about mine or sorted my insurance out - better get a move on hadn't I!).


P.S Enclosed some pics of us. The one of 3 people is me on the back left, Cat on the back right and Medi being stranggled at the front. Bear in mind we are very drunk at this stage! On the other pic Diane is the one on the right!

;D ;D.yeh so ill definatly see u when getting to florida!... ;D.....LOL...i love packing!! still need to get a few things....i have got my insurance,but i dint go with gateway.......and just read that means u have more forms to fill in or something or other....... :'(.........i only just got my insurance ,a few days ago......so i left mine pretty late too.... ;Dbut it dont matter.as long as u have it for when u go...

thanx i will be very happy packing!..........im on the summer program too..and i study Illustration at swansea..........and leave august 26th! ( i know i wont wanna go home either ;D)

welcome to the boards glad u finally got to register, uve probs read about me but i'll tell u anyway
i'm sara, 20 from staffs, currently in my 2nd year at uni of derby goin a honours degree in travel & tourism management. Am goin from manchester on 21st june doin the year prog.

oooh another 21st to have out there, 4 days after i arrive, mines 10th july so just a few days younger than u hehe

Yep we'll be changing in Atlanta i can't remember what the times are tho. I'm sure my memories going. Must be all those nights out. I can't believe it's three weeks today it's come about so quickly can't wait to step off that plane and feel the heat woo-hoo sunshine state here we come.

Haha yep Sara i knew who you were lol. I was wondering how long it would take you to respond lol. Now you know me i feel like i'm a member of the gang lol.

The more i read these pages the more it scares me that i'm totally not prepared. Got my last exam on Friday then it's 2 weeks hardcore preparing for Disney and paryting. Will probably be worn out by the time i get there! Anyway back to the revision!

know what the revision/exam prep is like, currently doin a 3000 words on themes and concepts of a designated tourist dest... chose disney surprisingly enough, oh well done 400 ill get to 3000 by hand in on thursday..... i hope!

lol nat one reason y i chose it... be a bit more fun than the other places i could've chosen... only problem is the essay has 2 b so theoretical... wouldn't bore u with all the things i need 2 put in but cultural landscaping, and commodification are 2 areas

I'm so stupid i've just been trying to work out for the past ten minutes why it wouldn't let me post a reply. Turns out i wasn't logged in. God if you didn't know i was blonde you probably would have guessed lol!

Hi Claire glad to have you on board we're always looking for recruits.

Sara i was going to do my dissertation on Disney and crowd management. I decided not to in the end but it was quite interesting. I read all these landscaping books and it was interesting to read about all the cultural backgrounds and how Disney designed things to make crowds walk in a certain direction. I always think the classic thing is how you almost always walk off a ride into a shop!

 

yeah, and how they located the themes of the different areas cos of different groups and that, very interesting

i might be doin it for my dissertation as well, i was gona do it as a comparison with alton towers on seasonaility and marketing issues!

sara ,yeh does sound difficult.......im lucky i finished my wayyyy borning essay ,handed it in yesterday.....so  im all sorted   ;D....just think it will be done and out the way by thursday evening......unless u have any more to do ???  ;D..good luck with it. ;D

It's good that we've got Disney to look forward to though isn't it. Keeps you going through the exams. I'll have to remember to go on this site when i get to Disney then i can let people know what to bring that we might have forgot. Luckily my parents are coming out for my 21st so if i've forgotten anything they can bring it!

Right i seriously need to start my revision now this site is getting addictive!
