so its like 3 months to go until january comes around and everyone can re-apply again.

What have people already started? I'm going to be starting my cover letter again come november, as I will have loads of time to work on it then. My CV also. I'm also going to be researching for the phone interview, and will be doing practice runs with friends to make sure I dont sound daft. What about everyone else what are we all doing at the moment preperation wise?

I think I'm going to contact Yummy and ask if they could give me some pointers to explain why I've been waitlisted this time, so I can make sure that next time I manage to get all the way ;)

I'm not sure how much to change my cover letter; obviously it was good enough to get me noticed last time, but if all I do is change a paragraph or two and leave the format the same, will it look like I haven't tried? I don't want that, but I don't want to change it and then not get through! I guess that's something else to ask Yummy about.

I REALLY want this, and it's so frustrating knowing there's still almost 3 months left until we can even apply - if it's the same schedule as last time it's going to be another 6 months before we even find out if we've made it through to the phone interview :-[

Im working on my cover letter because i think i didnt do such a good job last time. i also want to e-mail yj to ask about guest relations positions because i was wondering if uk are eligible to apply to these as well as i know other countries are. I want to ask them as well about rehire status as im not sure what mine is i thought i had good rehire status because i completed my programme but have since heard that that doesnt autimatically mean you have rehire status with the company and im not sure if that is true or not.

I emailed yj a while ago and asked not for pointers but for what exactly they are looking for in rehires so i am hoping this time my cover letter will hit all those points

i've pretty much got a rough draft finished, both CV and cover letter. i'm in the process of getting other people to read it and using their feedback to make some changes.

have they told you you def aren't getting a place? Or is it a case of when apps open in jan, if they haven't got in touch then you have to reapply?

They've told us that if we don't have a date by January 4th, we're 'released' to reapply. I'm not sure how that works, as it means there won't be a waitlist from January to June, but things could always change. Since only one person has been given a date since the end of August, I'm not holding my breath! I'm just focusing on making this application as good as I can.

I've given up hope too and just focusing on my next application. I feel a bit of a failure to have given up hope but I think if I can channel my energy into the next application it'll hopefully be a lot better :)
